I have to correct the impression. The game is running now without problem. My second im. is very positive so. I have to tell, that the game is fine additive.

nice day

My first impressions mirror that of McGillimacduffy, or whatever his name is. The game is solid, but the AI brings it down low. I like the dynamic the game incorporates where you can lose some things to the AI, but it doesn't mean you have to reload the game -- rather, you can continue playing and try to sort the mess out. That's how a kingdom simulation ought to be. Still, the problem is that the AI isn't good enough to TAKE things from you once you get on a roll. I think where the game ought to exploit the powerful player is by using the "relationships entropy" model. Even nations you have treaties with should slowly move towards neutral. Nations you do not have relations with should move towards more aggressive towards you depending on their religion and the ruler's atiitude. Eventually, the result should be that the powerful player kingdom simply can't please all the people all the time anymore, and multiple nations (the ones that least like you) will begin to declare war on you, and possibly even form alliances to do so. This entropy factor ought to also be the main difference between the skill levels. On easy, it's slow, and on hard, it happens very fast. That way you don't have to compromise AI at the lower skill levels. Another fix that needs doing is the AI itself, though. I think this has already been emphasized enough. The third thing this game needs to reach its full potential, in my opinion, is a multiplayer mode. Not anything complicated. Just a simple mode where I can host a game and have some friends connect to my IP. No game browser needed. You wouldn't WANT a game browser anyway, since you'd never be able to find a random player you'd be able to finish a game with. Obviously the multiplayer mode would need a 'save game' feature in order to work. It would be a blast playing some of your guys on these forums; forget the weak AI.

I have this game for a long time and i think its really great. As i am an experienced player i thought of many things in this game, i have strategies and also ideeas. Firstly i started with Moldovia and made the country a disaster. But after that the country was happy i had 2 marshals and i had peace with all europe but in an end ive turned my marshals in traders (marshals=King&Son ) and hired new ones. The country was in even biger

'' I was a king in my country, a man in 1 province, i had a wife and one son three daughters many soldiers many subjects they were happy, the country was happy''glory.[/FONT]

I think that this forum is great.I mean that a LOT of exp.players come here and lay out their opinions and give away tactics for help to those who need it.Vlad my game started even worser than yours.I am from Buglaria and I usually play with Bulgaria in the game.At firs I had NO idea how to play it,but than I played the training game and I got it!But I just keep asking myself this qestion how could somebody create a game this great and fantastic? The guys from Sunflowers are Bulgarians and I am so amazed. What do you think? You know how to prevent a cursade against your country?

Crusades are usually only declared when you are at war with catholics. That means you should go to your treasury, get some plink-plink and make all their catholic minds rest assured that peace is a very fine thing.

I love this game! i've been an RTS fan for a long time and a RTW fan also but when i finally found out about KoH and played the demo things changed. I always hated in RTW the darn stupid AI and diplomacy with it was horrible. This game offers up the best diplomacy i have ever seen in a game like this. The battle AI is also very smart i had it flank me a couple times and even went behind my ranks and hit me in the back! espionage is much more useful and fun in this game i have had it many times happen where the AI had a spy that was my spy. They even assissinated my king =/. What really hits home with this game though is that it happens in real time! NO STUPID POINTLESS TURNS! the AI keeps it Alliances and always helps you they even offer up bait if you will attack another faction. Basically i think some of the other Developers(LIKE RTW) can learn from these people about how to make a great game and still keep a nice flare(graphics only 2-D but very nicely done) of a game.

Yes indeed KOH gives you the oportunity to do politics in a way no other game has given. The AI is fantastic. You said it yourself-the spyies, the diplomacy and everything else is great.Only one thing is bugging me!Its tha battleview. It seem rather simple that complicated. Its not the same as RTW,but its like Age of Empires.

Well, I bought this game in the end of 2004, and almost a week or two later I'd done it with a rank of Imperor :) So, impressions, huh?! Cool game, never saw like this one. So many tactics, so many politics, so many countries... wow :)

I am playing this game for a quite a wille. One thing i must say is that RTW cant compare to this game. The true RTS funs will know why this game is better than that comercial game.

I think KoH is a good game and an old ideea... remember Lords of the Realms 2? wel LotR 3 was an all time bust except that it had multiplayer wich made it far more popular(well it was a total bust finally :). This is the opposite of what happens to Sunflower games... they became an all-time multiplayer failure. I know now that any game from Sunflowers will have crappy multiplayers at most even with great single player playability instead. I mean how many times you can play vs the dumb AI before you get bored?

If developers give just a little more attention to this game and fix the AI they can sell it as a new game

Hi all,

At first I was thrilled with the game, but after about 20 hours of gaming it became a bit boring. It isn't fun to conquer all the countries (provinces), since this all goes the same way..no surprises. If you aren’t able to conquer the kingdom with 2 army’s, than you will certainly be able by sending 3 army’s. You do a bit of trading, a bit of spying, you go at war.. after some time I received a 'salary' of +780..I started to donate money to allies, since there wasn't anything left to do with the money (I had almost everything and received the exotic goods). It's too bad that there aren't any options for the buildings too..What's even more disturbing, is that when you have certain resources in a province, that you can't share it with any other provinces.. (only fertile soil might not work but the other things could be mined etc and sent to other provinces for the creation of certain buildings etc). Now if you want to achieve something in a province and have created 4 or 5 building for this purpose..it turns out that the 6th can’t be created, because a certain resource is missing. This is very annoying. Offcourse the game would become a bit different if you could just trade between provinces, but this could be fixed by setting a maximum of resources per province and/or by just arranging these things a little bit different. I also had some other comments on the game, but I can’t come up with them right now. I also saw some other opinions, like creating a dungeon and putting the prisonners there etc..those are good ideas.

I still love the sieging part however (i.e. attacking or defending myself), but the rest is somewhat boring after a while.

This game has great potentials, if some changes aree made and some opnions of the gamers are taken into consideration, than this game would receive an A+, I am sure of that.

Kind regards

How do you expect pasture to be traded among provinces.Bring buldozers to trade it?

lol  . I had already said that it was with the exception of fertile soil (and the resource with the water&fish icon, the resources that can't be mined). The others can be mined (silver etc) and exported
