View Full Version : Suggestions for the second patch
I like a lot of Gorda's ideas especially the fixed province resource features. Many of those improvements would make it much more realistic.
I would like to see a change in the chance of rebellion. I have a large empire where all provinces are over -20 on happiness and still the rebels pop up. Seems to defeat the purpose in charging no taxes and monitoring my Province Overview screen to ensure all my states are in the green.
This does not include foreign rebels that emigrate into my empire from some other nation that had a large revolt.

I wrote this message under another thread but it posted here.how do I move it to Suggestions to the second patch?
I like a lot of Gorda's ideas especially the fixed province resource features. Many of those improvements would make it much more realistic.there are always 2 poles:
1) those who want total realism don't take variability into account. Come on, it would be boring if in EVERY game you have everything the same
2) in actual KoH rendomness was victorious. That couses so ridiculous games where in Sahara you have fertile siol while Egypt has no resources.
As many times before, there should be either possibility to swith between those 2 or - much better - a hybrid semi-accurate and semi-random system. Each province has chance to get this and that resource which is based on historical accurancy, but is generated randomly (according to layout)

And there was also no nostalgia in those kingdoms? If there is nostalgia, it will not matter what your happiness level is, there will be rebellions from loyalist rebels until the nostalgia is gone.
There are three types of rebels, local, loyalist and famous. Local rebels occur when the people are generally unhappy, the loyalist rebels occur when there is nostalgia and then the famous rebels occur when someone's armies have been made to rebel or a neighboring loyalist rebel has risen to 8+ star stus and has started to roam and pillage through all provinces.

Here is how I think the money problem can be fixed:
A. You should have expenses in manufacturing goods, that way you will earn little even we you have a lot of trade goods (and also it will be more realistic you will have to give back to the people from wich you take taxes etc
OR
B. "Soldier salary" the bigger your kingdom the more soldiers it will be difficult to defend it when you have to pay a certain amount of gold per 100 soldier's for example (More realistic)

when another nation requests audience for a trade agreement, you could minimize their big window and then look at the political map to see exactly what the relationships are between that country and other nations in the region as well.
maybe there is a way to do this? i can't seem to find one. i generally have to guess as to how nations i am already in agreements with may feel about signing new agreements with another nation. (or province or whatever.)

it has nothing to do with the mod.
Just left-click by mouse at the top part of the announcement and move it. Sometimes it doesn't work, but generaly it does

All to your credit Dobber, I have very stupidly not made that distinction amongst rebels despite my examination. I need to lay off the Coors during gameplay that might help.
