Of course, I remembre, Teutonic Order wanted to connect with the Brotherhood of Sword Cavaliers or sth like that (near Sweden) and TO atack the region called in my caountry ¯mudŸ :p.

Zmudy - that is how Samogitia is called in Polish.
Poland and Lithuania has been alied a few times when dealing with Teutonic Order. Grand Duke Gediminas has been alied with Polish king in the beginning of XIV century for a decade or so, and also alliance existed for the most part since 1385 agreement (with some exceptions - like 1430s civil war in Grand Duchy of Lithuania, during which Poles tried to occupy Volynia)
However, there also have been wars between Poland and Lithuania. Mostly over Volynia and Podole in XIV century. Also Poles often participated in Crusades against Lithuania. And Lithuanians had raided Poland in XIII, XIV centuries.

Hmm, that sounds "interesting". I've never heard about the crusades against Lithuania. Maybe was local "crusade" made by one of polish duke or ruler of small lands, but I haven't heard about a big strike.
I know that we have a lot of battles in the time fo World War's between our countries, but before
And also I haven't heard about the Lithuanian rush into polish lands - hmmmm

I don't remember if Poles have organized Crusades against Lithuania - at least I do not recall reading about it anywhere. Polish knights simply participated in Crusades which were organised by Teutonic Order.
It was a Christian culture of the time - Christian knights wanted to fight pagans. Polish knights considered themselves Christian, afterall.

I am talking strictly about Middle Ages - not WWI :)

Lithuanians raided Poland often during XIII, XIV centuries. One of the points in 1385 Kreva's agreement - was to exchange war prisoners between Lithuania and Poland, and it was a Polish requirement - because a majority of prisoners were Poles, that were captured by Lithuanians during their raids.

Against Lithuania crusades were made for over 200 years. It was made by teotonic ordin and for them all knight from all Europe were comming to help. Crusades were organizing against Lithuania until teutonic ordin was defeated! 1410  Lithuanian king Mindaugas becomed catholic in 1253 06 06 and people were starting to become catholics, new cathedral was constructed. But after that TO was saying to pope and all europe kings that Lithuania is still pagans so crusades was still organizing.

Great, Frank. How did I missed it?

but what's thal Lake Peipus. I never heard of that and the link doesn't show anything

and also, only one battle with eastern european battle (Nikopolis), if the Lake Peipus isn't. I guess Grunwald/Tannenberg deserves to be there... so hopefully in an expansion....

also great battles like Crécy or Agincourt(100 years war) or Bouvines from the west mising...
and the Kalka river (1223) between Russians and Mongols

nothing with mongo invasion? why?

I must agree with Lechfeld, Hastings, Hattin and Nikopolis, those were really crucial battles for Europe...
but those other battles? crucial battle of very regional character between England and Scotoland? what's that? 2 battles of british isles and only one from central and eastern Europe?

Battle of Kalka river influenced more han half of Europe cause it opened gates for Mongol invasion....
Grunwald/Tannenberg influenced whole Baltic and eastern European history for ages, including also parts of central Europe(Poland and Bohemia) and neither of them is in KoH?

Bouvines which decided 2 long lasting struggles of Europe: papacy vs. empire and England vs. France at one place...
nothing from Reconquista? (Covadonga, Las Navas De Tolosa) heh? where are those?

Did anyone he
ard about Lake Peipus? I ddin't...

In German version it works, it's the battle where Alexander Nevski and the Novgorods defeated the Teutonic Order...

Elvain

at least this...
ok. But I'm missing the point. Teutonic order defeated in 1242 and just in the next century is on the top of it's power...
and after Grunwald/Tannenberg (1410) it fell and survived from the will of Poland and Lithuania

if I must decide for one battle with Teutonic order, I would (and I am sure not only I) pick Grunwald/Tannenberg. But I am not a developer, that's the thing :)

EDIT
I should have said THANKS to the devs for showing us which battles will we be able to play. Here is my THANKS
I just thought things could be better...

Lake Peipus battle is overhyped and overrated, in my opinion.
In 1236 Livonian Order was crushed by Samogitians and had to be joined with Teutonic Order to survive.
And Lake Peipus battle happened 6 years later... I would doubt that they could muster any substantian forces.

The Russian filmmaker chose this battle as a theme for his propaganda movie - precisely because nobody knew much about it...

And it is a fact that it did not affect Teutonic Order in any substantial way.
