fredvienna upped a savegame and we tested all the same game with the same zoom levels and the same graphic settings

50 FPS with core2duo E6600, 2GB DDR2-ram (667) dualchannel (4x512MB), ati x1950xtx

24 FPS with core2duo E6300, 2GB DDR2-ram (333) 2x1024MB, NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2

Are you promising than that with a 8800 GTX (768MB & 86.4 MB bandwidth) on an Asus NForce 680I SLI with a core2duo 6700 and 4MB Corsair P6400 @ 800 MHZ (twin kits with heatsink) 1701 will actually run fast:wink:
I get the machine on Wednesday. While I don't have as deep pockets as the "Dell guy", I don't thinks this should be a slouch at CDN 2,000 less.
Mind you, the 8800 GTX is not on the "tested" list

There is one lonely german user with this card.
I've send a PM to him, asked him to make that FPS test

I don't have a frame counter installed. When I tried to download it I was advised not to by the security software. So, you just have to take the info as currently available. Is there another software besides Fraps?
AFAIK the lonely German, living in Germany, does not have the 8800 GTX but the 8800 GTS.

The setup put everything on high.
When zoomed in I get a delay when placing a lot of houses in a row. That would imply either a slowdown in the framerate or that too much new info cannot be digested quickly enough.

I only know Fraps (software used also by journalists for their tests).

For your "problem", what about your PC (processor, speed, memory) ?

E6700, 4 GB Corsair 800 Mhz, of which only 2.8GB are recognized by XP.
It's for sure not a PS problem, 700 Watt is more than enough.

Dont Live in the past with Nvidia what u need is a radeon .
Radeon X1300 Series
Display Memory: 512.0 MB
My game is 45ps. on land and sea
Battle with 3 players on around 25FPS
Not bad for a card for 150 pounds

emm, you have an x1300? Thats a budget card, even the x700 is much better. Its comparable to a 6600 non-GT, even the 6600GT outperforms the x1300 by leages

If it's Nvidia, 7900GT (9700 was ATI card).

No problem... but did you run FRAPS to count your FPS ?

I've got an overclocked 7900GT, i can play...but games is running nearly at 18-22 fps (it depends), so ... for a high end card (or so) it's a little bit under my expectations...

I was calling his attention to his mistake! I know that nVidia does not have any 9000 cards!

Are you sure they are not working on a 1701 special edition, the NW990GTIx8SE1701AD

heh, 7900 GT :P

Anyway:
Closest that you can get: 39 --> 47 fps
Scroll lock: 20 --> 48 fps (town --> workarea or surroundings)
Over a town(normal point of view and highest end): 18 / 20 fps
Over a working area: 32 --> 40 fps

Something like that ~

And about your processor ? Graphic resolutions, settings ?

I've got 15 fps to 25-30 fps (on sea) with my card.

nvidia geforce 7900 gt
1280x1024x32
VSync - Off
Antialiasing - Best performance
Anisotropic Filtering - Best performance
Shadows - High
Water Effects - Medium
Effect Quality - High
Further everything On except: Figures Display

It's a nearly new installed system though. Could also be one of the reasons.
