What is the "relation" between the patch and the map editor?

Will the improvement of the Editor be part of the patch?

I know I always have annoying questions

im still wanting to know if the AI us actually improved in battle or not... Its a question that should really be answered.

What about the map editor?

Frujin.

I could make a table (excel) with all the provinces and their (more or less hisotricaly correct) possible province features for random, but still historicaly accurate distribution of province features so it wouldn't happen that in Highlands or Sahara you have fertile soil while Egypt has Pasture and Gold deposits

would such table be sensefull? I'm affraid it's too late to incorporate such thing to the patch, isn't it?

I hope you do that,it will be the best thing to have in the next patch

the thing is if it has some space in BSS' concept of the patch and if it's not already too late

Yea, I wonder if there will be some news between the Christmas and the New Year..

btw, I thught you in Bulgaria have Orthodox Christmas, don't you?

Traveller

We're Orthodox, yes. But we're celebrating it according to the new style/calendar, not the old one (like the Greeks do f.e.). So Christmas here is before New Year, like in most of the rest of the world.

Hi.

I know it must be annoying, but will we get some news as some kind of Christmas gift? :bday:

at least some info how the patch deals with the editor..
(and is it worth finnishing the Excel table with province features? I won't have much time to do it later so I need to know it untill the New Year)

Happy New Year to You all :hello:

I`m starting to think they lied us about the progress on the patch just to shut your mouths and gain some time or maybe i like conspiracies too much.

Well, I really like the demo of this game and have the full version on order, but I am hoping they will finish the patch soon. It looks like you have worked some wonders with your custom mods, but official support can do so much more. I enjoyed this game so much I stopped playing Medieval 2 TW. Hopefully after the holidays everyone will hear something official or they'll have a patch release ready.

I actually like Medieval 2 Total War quite a bit, Kard. And theres some decent mods that amp up the AI on that game. But KOH has a special charm, thats why people like it.

To be honest, however, when seeing the support that CA gives to Medieval 2, its tough not to be critical of BSS. This patch has a lot of issues to fix and its pretty certain there will not be anymore. Then again, CA has a lot more resources then BSS.

Regardless, I am hopeful this patch does what we need it to to maintain it as our favorite game.

Well, not to stray too far off topic, but I find this game easier to play for someone like me who has 1-2 hrs to play at a time. I don't have to track down where all my diplomats, princesses, etc. are. I found that in MTW2 I spent too much time micromanaging. Also, the MTW2 battles are long and I can't find a way to save during them, so when I have to quit for the night or because my kids have woken up, I have to quit and restart the battle again. I also think KoH has a better diplomacy model.

I don't think what you don, Patriot1

They didn't lie. Frujin's activity is someting new and there's something deeper behind it (come on, AFAIK this game was Frujin's idea, I am sure he is personaly very pleased by our love to KoH and it makes him proud of it!)

They just have holidays and eventhuogh Frujin vistis the forum.. he just doesn't reply.
I'm impatient about news and would like to offer them more to help (and I won't have that much time later, that's why I ask for soon statement). I believe that after the holidays we'll know more about the patch.
I don't want them to rush it. The later the patch will come th ebetter it will be.

At the same time I agree with Kevin, this patch will probably be the last support for this over 2 years old game.

We can only hope it will make it much more re-playable and wait with secret hope in KoH2

PS: kevin? how about the multiplayer? any news?

if it's not to late (and it is), one suggestion
I was plundering Hungary today, and my spy came to fight me as Hungarian marshal, he could not pull army revolt until like third our fourt time...
if it would be possible to ad higer sucess posibility when you are near your spy

Elvain

there were some suggestions that wnen your spy is a marshall you should be able to control him somehow. At least make him flee from a battle when he's losing (flee from battle, but stay infiltrated as marshal)

I think it was also already suggested that he should be able to desert with his army and join your armies (you'd lose a spy), or his army could become a mercenary camp with your flag (free for you)

Actually I don't have to know much about the patch. The only thing I expect is that the AI manages to stop my expansion at a certain level by teaming up on me. That way the game could last for ever because I grow, the AI teams up, I thus shrink, the AI lets me go, I grow again, etc. That was already somewhere in the suggestion threads and was well discussed.
Beyond that I have no expectations. I'll just wait and see what BSS has in store for us.
Anyway, I guess it'd be better for the patch if we kept the feature suggestions and -discussions to their threads, so we can descuss the status of the patch here. That makes things a lot easier to navigate.

Now back to the status:
As far as we know BSS bought the rights to KoH, which is why the contract took so long. They didn't just negotiate a patch, they bought the rights to the game-merchandise.
I guess if I said I expected the patch in the first quarter of 07 and it'd be wrong, then Frujin would correct me.
(Right, I didn't ask him for a release date, I said some time-frame and either I guessed right or he has to correct it - I'm genius! )
