View Full Version : Who's playing with 1.05? - First impressions, please!
I played a little (little time) and cannot make such nice reports as you did above, but YES, I am loving it at the moment and I love what you have found out :go:
well done BSS
I just lost Boheia - my capital province.
A spy from Poland was my cleric governing it :bash:
not even 2 hours in the game Ai has experienced spies? what?
Great :go:
Yes! Very well done! It is like we have a brand new game! :go:
from another thread:
And plundering has become much more important to wear down your opponent before taking the city.
Yes, especialy when you are always short of money. You need to boost your income and plundering is nice and effective source. And furthemore very realistic
much more important than in 1.03 version.
I just installed "International patch" over my russian KOH. It changed all texts into english. Is there any possibility to turn russian texts back!?
Its not feir!:nono: Whay the patch overwriting texts!?
The version that was released now, was just English/German/French.
I have no idea why not also Russian, but maybe it was more complicated for them (maybe their translator is on holidays now?)
But Webbi said russian version will come soon, so hope it will come soon :go:

i like the new patch very much :go:
i am playing with bohemia and i am surrounded by huge lands and before the patch i could easly invade it and take a huge gap of it.
But now i must watch myself for not going to open war as i am with germany and i took 3 provinces from him but he took 1 back in a huge battle with on each side 2 marshals it was one great battle between 4 marshals!!
I lost almost 2 armies there had just one squad left on each :go: was forced to retreat as i needed my marshals as dident had much money to.
but i got defeated by the A.I  And that FEELS GREAT
The A.I uses there troops much better and dont just charge with there general a head in battle no they keep him behind and let it be protected by his troops:go:
and on the map i see some huge changes in lands but i dont see many smoke on the map of rebels etc or that a rebel has captured a town and makes t independent  the A.i attacks better too they dont follow you to you casle and atack thre no they turn back and attack your farms or if you came out of there land they get back to there castle. and not as before that they went after you for te half map:lol:
Thracian, Click with the mouse one kingdom and open the console with the button enter and write in the open console bsswitch and close the console with the button enter.:go:
I have no idea why not also Russian, but maybe it was more complicated for them (maybe their translator is on holidays now?)
But Webbi said russian version will come soon, so hope it will come soon :go:

That picture ran out of traffic. You might give imageshak.us a try.
If I can't take a realm directly it's always a good idea to starve them out. One army sieges, the other plunders (to restock food) and repells any incoming armies. Once one army runs out of food switch the roles. Keep that going until you took the province.
Or just plunder their lands and ask for the province as an exchange for a peace-treaty.

I placed all picture now in the old method same before.

Oh, and I think your bowmen are ineffective against armored townguards. Didn't the patchnotes say something about arrows and armor?
Try going for strong infantry instead next time.

Town Guards seem to be beefed up abit with the patch.
In one battle when the AI destroyed my melee troops There town guard only had 2 little men left so I attacked them with my full regiment of Heavy archers.
I watched and sobbed sadly to myself as my archers were slaughtered.
My general was the only soldier I had left , his bodyguard all laying bleeding on the battlefield so I withdrew.:bash:
The AI peasants also seem alot tougher then mine , but it makes the game fun
I just think that crusader armies are little too weak. They aren't much stronger than normal army and with carrisons they are rarely able to take a province.
I am so glad I have a free weekend! I am stuck in a three front war with France. I still, after 4 hours play, only own Burgundy, Provence, Savoy and Genoa.
France and me have been warring over Champagne - back and forth - for about an hour - and they keep returning after a loss with better soldiers.
It really is much better performance by the AI - congrats BSS.
I am very impressed about the big kingdoms. Big kingdoms stay long time and
split not into " thousand "small realms. For Example: My biggest AI kingdom sweden have in the moment a big proplem; no gold more, because this kingdom have five or six exotics and the kingdompower is -4, but if the kingdompower go up to zero so the kingdom can act again. Full garrision and the bonus of defend make this kingdom strong. I play now over 7 hours gametime and its great this game. I like it.
I'm impressed.
It's extremely hard or rather impossible to take a city just with one marshal. You have to lead the battles yourself to be able to take it
Thank you for information, but what they going to translate:wink:
Rename new unit?
The patch replaces certain files in the KoH directory, some of these files are the text files the computer uses for the messages, with the english patch these messages are in English, they have to be translated to Russian for the Russian patch.
