this may soung cliche - but peace with yourself is the most important thing in life.... If you have no peace with yourself - you will not have it with others either.
That's a general thought....

Sometimes this is very true.

Inner strife can also force you to strive for higher goals. The desire for something better, the need to obtain more knowledge. The goal of inner peace is very hard to obtain. Sure, you can meditate and "focus" on obtaining a higher plain of existence. These are only temporary though. Constant meditation does not seem to be the idea dejour for many who strive for total peace. Peace of mind, peace of spirit, and peace of body can be achieved by handing over the inner turmoil to a "higher power." ;)

I tend to think I am a fairly peaceful guy...(okay, quit laughing)... I am not falsely at peace though. If something is worrying me, I always have a place to go to expulge that worry. DC Talk has a few songs about this matter. One of them is "Take it to the Lord." Good stuff. :go:

Quite so. Also... "One must learn to seperate the mind from the body, thus obtaining tranqulity in both." Yep, seperating your head from your body will give ya peace. :D

every worry has its reasons. So it is worth thinking about it until you figure out what are the reasons and figure out how to "make peace with that worry".
When you "hand inner turnmoil to higher power" - you may just be hiding your worries from yourself, but you will have to figure them out sooner or later. Later maybe better sometimes, I admit...

Also - being "falsely at peace" - does not mean being at peace.

Buddhist or not - that is how people are made. Try being nice to others when you are full of worry yourself - the result will be simply anger building up inside you...

And "inner peace" - is the constant work - because when there are no worries at all - then you are probably dead already :p
