oooooffff....
shots 28:7 for Czechs
both teams deserve respect. Latvians played very well by their tactics, to destroy the football, Czechs tried very very hard to break through 11 players defending the box.
I was not far from heart attack, but fortunately we have Karel Poborsky, Milan Baros and Marek Heinz.

I think Czech team played rather bad and below it's potential. If it were not for inexpereinced Latvians Czech Rep. would loose.
IMO Czech Rep. will have to play much better against Germany and Holland if it wants to go through.;)
I would like to see Croatians struggeling aggainst 11 men all in and just around penalty area.
But yes, there was lack of move and vitality. Especially in 20-45 minutes. They should play better next matches. But I really don't think it is so easy to score aggainst so tough defense.
Do you know the statistics? I would like to see ball possession. 80% to 20% or maybe 70 not to exaggerate that much. shots 28 to 7
But yes, I was little disappointed with Rosicky, Koller and Baros most of the time. They tried hard, but statically. But I'm not sure if running aggainst the wall around the penalty area will have more success. Shots from 25+ metres when there are 10 men to block it?
btw. Congratz to Holland. That game seemed very similar to France vs. England on sunday. Just the result. Hopefully the draw will be the best result for Czechs. I was disappointed by Dutch play and surprised by Germans. I would say this surprise was pleasant for me if Germans were in another group ;)

Have you watched the qualification games against Slovenia? They were far worse then Latvia. They were defending with 11 players all the time....I think they crossed one or two times in our half in both games. They had 0(zero!!!) shots in Slovenia...that tells you all. :p ;)
Btw. Switzerland didn't play much different than Latvia as well, they were mostly playing defense with counter attacks.
The thing is that Croatia has one of the best defenses in Europe, but it's midfields is bad since we are still recovering from the loss of such greatness as Boban, Prosinceki and Asanovic and thats the main reason we sometimes play bad and why we are not so strong anymore.
Czech team on the other hand still has a great midfield. I mean Rosicky, Poborsky and Nedved are probably the best midfield players one team has.
Truth to be told France has two great midfielders: Zidane and Pires, England only one although I dislike him Portugal has Figo and Rui Costa with Deco and that Ronaldo is not so bad either. All other teams mainly have runners and non-imaginative players in the middle.
P.S. you know how they say...Germans are Germans. Don't underestime them. Besides it was a bit stupid to say they are weak since this is the same team that played in the WC finals in 2002. ;)
OMG! I have just watched Denmark-Italy again, not only did Totti make an insane tackling, he also spat his marker in his face! That man is....
I never held the Italian football team high in esteem before, and Tottis stunt at the end of the Denmark game doesn't make it better...
didn't see that he hocked at/on his marker though...
Hope that Italys football team in general, and Totti in particular, make fools out of themselves in this tournament.
Sorry that's how I feel.
I have nothing against Italy in any other aspect!
I think our team (Denmark) did very well against Italy - just too bad that we didn't manage to win - to be frank, i was actually a bit dissapointed with the performance of the italian team i.e. they should be better than that.
I also like the match between Holland & Germany and i was quite surprised to see ther performance of the german player Bastian Schweinsteiger he is a player which we'll a LOT more to in the future....I also like that my favourite dutch player Ruud van Nistelrooij (Nistelrooy) managed to even the score in that match.

yep Denmark should have won i like their play always offensive.
3 games suspention for Totti.
He should have been sent home for the whole tournament IMO.
Interesting to see how the Italian media will react, and the Italian football squad, if they'll condemn him or say that everybody is overreacting and that there is a world conspiracy against Italy.

Damned 0:3 against England...
But well, it's already a great thing that they are on the EM, and we can't expect, that they beat the big football-nations...
But one thing is to say, from the beginning since to the yellow-red card (again  ) against Haas, they played better than England, but without any luck...
Well now I think it's over for Swiss, but we don't have to shame for our team, they pleyed really good!:go:
Yah man...
The EM 2008 is in Austria and Switzerland. Then we must win.

Man I can't believe the bad luck we have. We kicked France's *** and then we get such stupid goal. Not to mention I almost got a hearth attack when Mornar missed that chance in last minute....I was sure he will score. :bash: :(
Also that judge is a moron. The mistake was there, but Trezeguet played with hand.
Ah well...England is next...bring it on! :D

I'll agree, i also thin that Croatia should have nailed the French cuffin - i really enjoyed the second half of the match :)
btw, the Croatian fans really rocks IMO :go:

Yeah. French are so lucky...first against England and now against Croatia. Bah...
Fans were great. I always say we have one of the best fans in the world. I am just sorry I can't be in Portugal. One of my buddies was in France 98' and he said it was crazy. :)
Man, I bring bad luck! The team I'm for always loses! We lost agianst Sweden, Croatia against France (I consider it a lost game), England against France... Today I'm gonna be for Denmark! :dwink:
:D I hope you'll be for the Dutch tomorrow :)
Yea, I think Croats deserved victory for the second half. 30 minutes in the half they were better.
I found little unfair one thing. Have you seen Germans (especially Kuranyi-if he's a German:D) and Latvians how did they played handball on tuesday? Absolutely consciously, but without any punnishment, even a yellow card.
Then Ovchinikov, who didn't even touched the ball and he got the red card. And finally Trezeguet (he actually didn't want to play, it was sure, but...) who scored due to this lucky/unlucky hanndplay.
Bah... The judgement on this championship is terrible - I agree that Frances second goal was with a handplay. I'm not very happy 'bout our game either, but it's no use discussing it.
