Surprise, surprise, at the moment Greece leads 2:0... :beek:
Hmmm... Interesting! Two years ago Senegal defeated France, now Greece defeated Portugal! Is this just a marketing trick to increase the interest for the championship?

Well Greece is really a pleasant surpirse to me. They played great, but I think Portugal got into the game with a rather weak tempo and a discutable formation...not to mention some key players IMO were on the bench.
IMO Spain and Russia will draw. It will be either 0:0 or 1:1.
Krum The Terrible
Btw. I noticed one small thing.
On the last three Euros/World Cups whoever won the 3rd place in World Cup didn't qualify for the next Euro:
1994. Sweden was 3rd...1996 no Sweden in England
1998 Croatia was 3rd...2000 no Croatia in Belgium/Netherlands
2002 Turkey was 3rd...no Turkey in Portugal
Interesting... :)
sorry to dissapoint you... Russia lost :D

Hmm...today is maybe the day of the decision:
Switzerland - Croatia
The winner has a chance to come in the 1/4 - final, the looser has problems...
I tip(and hope) for a 2:1 for Swiss team
hope Croatian team doesn't take Swiss team enough serious...
and
a 3:1 for France against England...
PS: Interesting, one of my tips was right, maybe I should go to a betting office... :D ;)
It will be very interesting day.
I cannot imagine how the match Croatia Switzerland will end. My tip is more 1:2. IMO Croatians have little better chance to be successfull this EURO. But.. it is only match where I was not courageous enough to tip the result.
France-England 3:1 is good tip also for me. I also hope that French will win first half (i invested in it :D)

I just hope Croatia will play at least half as good as against Denmark.
In any case I tip for 1:0 or 2:0 to Croatia. There is a big chance for a draw as well. Of course anything is posibbles and the Swiss team winning isn't exclded as well.
@Kuno: I doubt they will underestimate the Swiss team. They have been preapering for this for quite some time. Not to mention some of your newspapers wrote lies about Baric saying Swiss team ****s. He never said such thing. I don't like him, but I know he would never say something like that...hes a coward. ;)
I guess to publish such a lie is a way to motivate your team too...anything is permitted...in love and war. :D

I guess to publish such a lie is a way to motivate your team too...anything is permitted...in love and war. :D The thing with the newspaper I know, I have a rule: "Never believe the Blick!" :D (Blick is the Boulevard-newspaper who wrote this story). And I also read an interwiew with Baric in a serious newspaper where he said, that he had never said this...
I hope it is motivation, but I think also, if someone of them is so stupid to believe what the "Blick" tells then I don't understand why they know how to shoot a football...:D

Well the game is over....I must say it was very poor.
I think Switzerland played good, standard for them and honsetly I don't think Swiss team can play much better than this...NHF Kuno.
Croatia on the other hand was extremly poor. No game, no passing, very little changing of places....very poor.
The tactics were also extremly bad....this especially goes for the period after Vogel was dismissed.
Truth to be told we had more chances and there were chances in which we should have scored...but what can you do this is football.
Croatia has nothing to loose now which may be good, not to mention Croatia always played good against big teams like Italy, Germany and such, but IMO to be objective this is the end for both Switzerland and Croatia.

Switzerland 0 - 0 Croatia
I really hope it isn't the end, but In my backhead I have also this opinion...
But who knows, England and France are good for a surprise, maybe France finds back to the WM-form...:dwink:
And I think so bad your team didn't play...they had a lot of dangerous chances. The guy who was taken out in the break was dangerous I thougt, didn't understand why coach took him out.
But Swiss team played very well after the dismission of Vogel! They were really great!:go:
Who knows maybe one of our teams will nevertheless bring a surprise to France or England! :)
Cheers Croatia!
France was luckly.... England should've won!

Well I don't know why he replaced Olic, but thats up to coach. Honestly I don't think highly of him, he scores rarely and ruines many chances so I am not surprised he missed it.
The thing is that the Croatian team after the dismissal of Vogel should have played more on ground instead they were playing with long balls which is totally atypical to our style of play.
Nevertheless it's not over although the chances are very slim now...who knows what will happen...we saw what happened to England against France. :)

I wonder how the English Hooligans (pleonasm?) are doing
 :) :D  :( :nono: :bash:
Today are Italy vs. Denmark and Sweden vs. Bulgaria.
My guess is:
Italy 2:1 Denmark
Sweden 1:1 Bulgaria
Anyway, there's gonna be a lot of beer consuming tonight, I hope!

Italy always play backwards. All meat in defense and trying to surprise in a fortuitous counterattack. Boring...
My guess is:
Italy 1:0 Denmark
Sweden 1:2 Bulgaria
