I don't know if in the late... but a question to you: does Byzantia exist? If yes, you can't reunite it :go:
this quest has some conditions... you have to capture certain provinces and certain kingdoms must be destroyed...

I think the only entry point in which u can resurrect Byzantia with Trebizond is High Medieval.
Currently I'm in Late Med, Byzantia gone, all Eastern and Central European Kingdoms are gone, and the whole of Central & Eastern Europe fell into my hands but nothing happens.

Anyway Many Thanks to you guys.

Hi and I will describe my question right away. I have just been excommunicated. Nothing happened in my provinces so far (I play Antioch with some provinces still in Islam) but i can't find any information abot how to return to the Catholic. Thanks in advance for help.

Welcome to the forum, Eriamel! :go:
To return to the catholic church click the cross-button in the upper-right corner (the button directly beside your piety) and click on the left part of the new window. You will need a hell lot of money to make the pope allow you to come back to the church and sometimes he will deny you access nevertheless.
It's wise to wait a while before paying the pope because once in a while the pope allows you to return to the catholic church without any money (especially when you have a cathedral build).

I hope that helps. :go:

Try to avoid getting excommunicated by spending piety and money to the pope.
This will cost you always 1k piety and x gold, depending on how big is your Reich.

Especially later in the game it is always a good possibility to waste your money.

Or you just conquer Rome and exile the pope! :go:

You can "kill" the pope by conquering the Papacy. But it's not recommendable.

Hi, I want to ask how to build (gather) special units such as Janniseries? There are 3 such units IIRC (one of them are some raiders of the Golden Horde, don't know the 3rd). If I check the political view there is no province capable of making such units, but when I look at prerequisities of the Janniseries it's just swordmaker and chainmail armory (I think...). Or maybe these units are meant for network play only?

no. These units are only regional.

Would you find it natural to see Janisaries as most frequent military unit of England?
so they are tied to:
1)certrain region
2)certian kingdom
3)certain time period

F.i. Teutonic knights would be very incorrect to be available for pagan Prussia and Lithuania which were the main opponents of Teutonic order. Also it would be strange to see Fatimid caliphate using Templars to defeat kingdom of Jerusalem

so you need something more than just build required buildings.
PS: Mongolian cavalry is available only for Golden Horde, Janissaries are available for Ottoman Turks (and maybe also for Seljuks) and in late period also in some region. You probably seeked them in the early period, did you?

btw, welcome on the boards :hello:

some kingdom uses a spy against you and you hired him as marshall(you can doo this too.

Recomandation: hire some of your perinces or king as a spy, leave him at your court (don't send him anywhere) and educate him as fast as possible. Then hire marshalls as carefully as you can (if possible the other princes or king, or while hiring a marshall, hire one, exile him*(*or send on a suicide mission). Hire secod and exile him*, hire third and exile him* and the 4th or 5th will have low probability to be foreign spy

How does one get a five star cleric?!?! I remember before when I played that it worked fine but now I just can't upgrade him above 4-starts because he needs 1400 books and the maximum is 1200...whats up with that!?!

Clerics can gain experience from adopting (converting) populations, right?
