View Full Version : [en] Pope John Paul II
yes, I totally agree...
sometimes I have bad feeling that in nowadays world, one doesn't have "right of death".. it is not included in declaration of human rights but I miss it...
I mean-if you really love somebody and you have a choice: to make him suffer, but "live" (tied to the bad and medicines, unable to speak, unable to read, unable to do anything, but "live") or make him die (I mean to leave-or free him from suffering)
I would never forgive myself to let him suffer without any reason. If he believes in God, he'll come to heaven with or without euthanasia, if he doesn't, moments of suffering will never make his life better...
IMO, the pope is one of people who fully deserve not to suffer. But if his religious thinking orders him to suffer, it is his free choice. But EVERYBODY should have this free choice (with his life, when there is no way to make his life something more than uncontroble lying on a bed in hospital).

Basicly that's what I said, but yours was politicly correct
As I told some lines above i'll be in Rome in round about 2 months. Meeting the vatican including a visite at him too (planed but not sure until now, the reasons should be well known). Edit: I write this in order to express that I admire this Pope in a certain way.
Well, I do not agree with the papal opinions in or one or another affair. That does not change anything in my basic adjustment to the catholic church. Which I regard critically, sure.
(Which may not degenerate in offenses like unfortunately happened in this discussion above :nono: )
But I still take the view that the church is to be regarded as the most important cornerstone of the peace in the civilized western world
I think many humans need guidance.
A guidance beyond material value.
A guidance for immaterial values.
Without church many humans would miss this important guidance. Therefore I prefer a church with a strong head (with its opinions I must not agree of course  )

I an not fun of Catholic church and i donīt know enough about the last pope.
Just i donīt deserve the bad or suffuring of nobody. We arenīt not better than anybody in the world thatīs what i think. largefly just start this cuz heīs cares about the popes health and if you are one of those person you have a place to join him in his prayers!
he wrote:" I would like to have our thoughts and prays go out to him!" him All i can see now is an old and very weak man, nothing more than that ;-)! Why should i deserve his suffering and pain!

At the time of my first post, I thought the pope's health issues weren't as bad as they are now. So I was hopping that he would become better with our thoughts and prays. As I have found out over the past few weeks that John Paul hasn't really been doing the pope's day to day activities as a healthy pope would do just for the fact that his health wouldn't allow him. (Please note that I never really kept up on the pope's status untill a few weeks ago) I have also found out that he is suffering a great deal. But now I pray that God would end his suffering in a quick manner.

Well, I donīt like the pope...and I donīt have any prayers for him...neither in the direction for a soon recovery nor in the direction of his death, as some others obviously have....Not liking someone and wishing him death are two very different things...I think he made a lot of mistakes and that he ist a very greedy for power and very obstinate...but still I donīt wish him to suffer, wether in life nor in death...
I think nobody here, or at least I (if speaking for myself only) don't wish the pope John Paul II death.
I only wish him to stop his suffering. I still think there is a chance for him, he still can do some activities.. not much but he can...
he only deserves to reach the end of this suffering, like every other human being...

I do not think hes greedy for power .If he was greedy he wouldint help people as he does. He does not deserve a suffering death nobody does not even the tyrants . he maybe is a bit over religious and have made some mistakes but to wish his man suffering on death bed makes you even bader then him . he mayb done some mistakes but if you can show me a perfect human then im gonna blow up my toilet ;) . but seriously there are no perfect humans , all have weaknesses .

I guess he is greedy for power, otherwise if he is so much suffering he could retire from his official status and work on in a more private way..but he simply want to be popeas long as possible and have no other to get that job, while he is alive...
but to wish his man suffering on death bed makes you even bader then him.
As I said above, I do not wish him death nor suffering.......I thought I made that point obviously.....

i hardly think the pope is out for power . the majority of catholic countrys doesnt listen to him , a man who wants power wouldint spend money on saveing children ,peoples life , no he would use it to expand his power limits . well he maybe loves his job , or he has a steady grip on it . other popes might not be as skilled as him and maybe make things collapse.

The last pope that retired was in the 13th century. It could be tradition for the pope to stay in office untill his death no matter how much he can do. But all of those popes could have been greedy for power also (not likely but still a possiblity). We may never know wheater he is greedy or is holding tradition. Only John Paul II can truly tell you.

Well it depends on the situation.....this pope has had problems for many years now and maybe it is simply time to stop, if you cant do anything anymore.....the good he does, does not adjust hte bad things he has done or is still doing..
