As we all know the Pope's health hasn't been that great over this past week. His health is getting better but I would like to have our thoughts and prays go out to him.

I pray for his existence to end. Of course, he can't have euthanasy, so I hope it's slow and painful.

Hehehe.
I don't really care for him as I'm Lutheran, not Catholic.

Well, altough I'm a Pentecostal in an Orthodox country, he has my best wishes. But not my prayers, since I'm not very religious. Strange mix, huh...

I told to my children a week ago :

When I was young there were times in those the Popes, now and then, died

They look at me with large eyes and do not believe me a word.

you know I don't believe in god, the more I don't believe in catholic way of belief, but the pope John Paul II. has my sympathies. last couple of years must have been very painfull for him, but he still tries to keep his authority and strength, his faith must be really strong and he deserves our deep respect and best wishes. From anybody, catholics, lutherans, orthodox, muslims, buddhists, atheists or anybody else... just because he's a human.
He did many good things

I hope he will have peacefull, calm and fast death when it once comes...
...and - maybe it will sound to contradict my words above, but - I think he deserves death to come soon to him. As a reward of whole his life and attempts to bring peace to the entire world...
we should learn from him his way of understanding another confessions, beliefs and statements...

@Happy Adolf: This here is a serious discussion, so there is no place for such offensive pictures! Keep the niveau! You don't always have to make a joke about!

I hope the Pope will be better soon. :) Well, maybe he should also consider a retirement...

@FrankishKnight: Shame on you. A knight must not even think such things. You may not love the Pope, but he is also a human being. And be careful with your wishes: When I was a child, I read at a house: "May everyone wish me what he likes - god may give him the same twice." (A bad translation, I know...)

This man kills thousands each day by denying them contraceptives. He further harms the female population be prohibiting abortion, and of course, the euthanasy bit.

THE POPE MUST DIE...or get really really sick and cough a lot. That'd be awesome.

If you wish the death or a heavy illness to the Pope or any other human being, you are not better than he is in your eyes. :nono:

@Frankish knight: Please stop to write how much you would like a painflul death or illness of the pope! There are a lot of people who get offened by such words!

@Frankish. It is true that he stands against abortions so harms many people's lives, but finally it's free decision of each women, of each men if they want it or not. Many times it's only their problem that they're not free enough to make own decision and they follow some authority's statement about their deepest personal issue.

The pope does it because his moral limits, because he never was to deal with such situation. Some people like him think life is different than some other people think (like you and me). I disagree with him in these cases, but
1) it's not a reason to wish him painfull death (again, I wish it to him from sympathies and respect, not from hate)
2)I think that if he changes his mind and "permits" abortions, euthanasy and such, it would cause much more wrong than good. Many people who NEEED faith and strict rules, who need to follow somebody and follow some religion will suddently loseauthority...whole societies might lose it, because those people disagree with it (sometimes they know about it even less than the pope does)

Right...and HappyAdolf writing about Hitler is not offensive?

Also: An old man who makes decisions for people...that's plain wrong! If he is not prepared to step down, he should cease to exist. Plain and simple.

You in your ivory tower are no better than he is, not even as good. He was placed in his tower by his peers, you placed yourself in yours. People look up to his and walk right on by yours without knowing it exists.

calm down, everybody!

what's this? everybody has it's faults, but everybody should deserve some respect form others. In this case this old man deserves Yours, @Frankish knight, as Happy Adolf deserves it too with his sometimes bad jokes, and you deserve it too from us. But please, wise up that what you write is no good.. nobody deserves somebody else to wish him painfull and slow death, especially when does many good and what was and is bad form him was not meant to be and was caused by bad knowledge about problem.

IMHO, I think the pope has done nothing that is good. Over the years, Catholicism has halted all sorts of medicla and social improvements. What is next? When a cure for cancer is found, the pope prohibits that too?
