Well I for one have always called it Hockey. I for a long time knew of no other form until one day heard the term field hockey and realized there was hockey off the ice.
And I am from the US where you probably would think everyone said ice hockey!

you have many of them:
ice hockey, field hockey, rolley hockey, uni hockey or floofball...
I had also heard of roller hockey, which I assume came into being with the straight line skates or maybe brought about the development of straight line skates. But I think I first knew of it as street hockey. I have never heard of uni hockey.

Uni hockey is very beloved here in Switzerland and Germany , I played it more time in a student league. It is with special sticks and palstic ball
www.unihockey.ch/
is is interesting because the sticks are different for defender or forward and gollie has no one.
you the rollay hockey is in line hockey is the same.

The ONLY time Canada calls it ice hockey is during international play. Canadians would look at you strangely if you called it ice hockey here.
Thank goodness the NHL lockout is over. Man, did I miss hockey. I guess most European hockey fans would like the lockout to never end, eh?
Interesting link for uni hockey, which I never heard of.

My favorite team is the Montreal Canadiens. Then, being Canadian, I like all the other Canadian teams - except Toronto!

I think Marcel is not more playing for Montreal, because he did not get elongation of contract. He is looking for a new club.
I have more favorite teams: Bufallo - (but without Satan not more) - btw, it will be interesting if Satan would go to Devils. :dwink:
Ottawa,
Washington,...
And in past - St. Louis

Satan with the Devils would be perfect! But he signed with NY Islanders.

hmmm, good list. I never realized just how many excellent hockey players were from Slovakia. Even before Montreal traded Josef Balej they had the most Slovakians in the NHL. Go Habs, Go!

This is a HUGE trade. I think both teams will benefit. Heatley needed to get out of Altanta due to his personal problems there.
