I guess he was joking, but still I understand.
The thing is that the "Byznatine heretics" can thank their catholic "brothers" for the fall of their once mighty empire. After the 4th crusade Byznatine was never strong as it was before....guess why...

yeah, good strategy. They will wait, those heretic bastards, and after we, with God's help, defeat all those non-believers, we'll deal with those heretics and pagans :dwink:
yes, Byzantian heretics didn't use crusades. They were not good enough christians to call crusades and support them:angel:
Heretics? Where are heretics?
Oh,I am Heretic...
What have I done wrong to you?

Oh, the Pope? Good guy!
Good you are here!
And you are most right, your Holiness!
With your blessing and wise rule you'll lead us to victory against these heretic plagues!
Like Heretic... mm what she says? She has never done anything to us?
She lies your Holiness, I've always been a good christian to her but she wants to kick me RIGHT IN THE BALLS! Can you imagine? That HURTS! :nono:
She should be declared heretic...
And the other one? 4zzY... Orthodox she calls herself? Well, I've seen them both planning to do some nasty rituals...
-ahem- look your Holiness!

This is so true!
About the Crusades: Don't worry! When I become the new Universal Patriarch, I'll make the first Orthodoxal Crusades (to the West)!:p :D :viking:
"Who controls the present, controlls the past.
Who controlls the past controlls the future"
George Orwell, 1984
Yea, that's unortunatelly true. So many true was lost through this.
just Imagine Hitler's victory and nobody today knows about the Holocaust!
holoco-what?
ignorance still exists and is even the greater problem
and i speak not only about this forum of course
it is or should be a global issue...
____________
remember 1984
ignorance is strenght
war is peace
freedom is slavery
nothing has changed
it is just easier not to see the truth

No, yes....
If Hitler's would have won I think we would definitely know today about the Holocaust...
How wouldn't we know of the "heroic feat" that answered once and for all the jewish question? (sarcasm used here)
"Who controls the present, controlls the past.
Who controlls the past controlls the future"
Then controll the past so you are the hero, the savior of the world, and your former enemies a plague that were enslaving humanity.
Do you see it?
Instead of erasing history, nazis would have distortionated it.
Ignorance is a sh1t, and evillness sure spreads it. But the most dangerous evil guys are not the ignorant ones, all the contrary.
It is a sad thing, but evillness can be more clever, pervert and subtle than we first imagine....
If we want to fight against Ignorance, then we must keep our eyes open and take care we don't become ignorant ourselves!
Anyway, good that Hitler was defeated and we got our mighty and good Ingsoc leading the way! :p
Oh, what time is it? Yeah! I'm going to the tavern to have a Victory Gin! Fancy some? Join me there!

Although I don't think that the present situation is not quite immune to distortion....not at all...
History is written by the victors, but one must know that there are always more truths than just one...

ah. crusades.. such a misunderstood time period of History.
Imagine if the crusades wer successful and Europe managed to drive the "infidels" from their conquered lands. Today would be a very different story. No holocaust, no 9/11, no islamic terrorism in Europe and abroad...
no offence meant
but you've been totally brainwashed :D
i have two political principles
i do not talk with russians about politics
and i dont talk with americans about 9/11
they both tend to missunderstand me
or should i say my approach is too extremist
enough offtopic
religion is a great topic to be discussed
only few words must be forbidden
infidel is the first
it is strange that not so many people know it
but at the time of the crusades
the western civilization was way less developed
compared to arab, orthodox, chinese, indian, aztec
or maybe any other major civilization at that time
i repeat that i mean no offence
but it is just the plain truth
otherwise we will have to return to the ignorance stuff
and sir Turylon if you look at the crusades from another point of view
you'll see that they are part of the reasons for the islamic extremism
a small but still significant part
because what our european ancestors did there
was hideous, inappropriate and to a large extend barbaric

Sure that European feudals, if able to defend their conquest aggainst "infidels" would teach them democracy and educate Palestinians to be tolerant to Jewish :D
Greatest joke I've ever heard.
Crusaders were lmost barbarians in comparison to Muslim culture those times. Like Europe was frustrated by barbarian invasios of Vikings and Mongols, Muslim world was, and untill today is, frustrated by crusades.
believe me, 4zzy have really good point on this.
btw, back to KoH topic.
How about orthodox and muslim and pagan features?

Glad you took that as a joke Elewyn. ;)
4zzy, brainwashed? haha, thx, needed a laugh.
In all honesty. I would have totally opposed the crusades to begin with. The very fact that they interrupted the lives of Europeans AND those living in the "crusaded" regions should have been enough to stop them from the beginning.
Next time 4zzy, plz don't jump the gun about something, which was meant as a joke.
If you are interested in reading something about the crusades that doesn't show a biased opinion.... Stephen Lawhead's The Iron Lance . Very nice "fictional" non-fiction book on the first crusade.
in KoH, I look forward to playing the HRE and crushing the heretics in Byzantium!!!! (note: if you took this seriously... drink some more beer)
cheers!
*EDITED BY SUNFLOWERS* - brings you straight to your working place
if you took that serious you owe me a beer:cheers:

those "heretics" did have something called "culture"
which some people still thing is a strange and unappropriate word

Protestants > all others.
@4zzy, do not joke about 9/11. I would never joke about the ethnic cleansing in bosnia or Germany. Some things should be off limits to joking around about, ya know?

I should not answer to this. I may think something else, but it's not topic of this forum and it have no place here at official public forum about KoH.
Tragedies are tragedies, everyone has to deal with them his way, doesn't matter how, if he respect the piety of the victims and respect it IS a tragedy.
I would say more, but it doesn't belong here.
Only one motto:
"Don't take your life too seriously. You cannot survive it."
