9/11 is serious thing and we cannot joke about it. Not only can, you should not... in the matter of respect for the casualties and their families.

hmm i guess now most of you owe me a beer
dont forget to call if you pass by Munich

@Sir Turylon
we understand that we are bein brainwashed
when we think we are not

@Frank Fay
i know just couldnt help it and now am a bit sorry
however the americans themselves
are even more cynical about it than i am
but it is their foult
one can not pretend to be the leading democracy
and to live in a totalitarian system

@Pope
i am part of your church dear pope
everybody who wathces tv
buys fashion magasines
goes to macdonalds (the modern cathedral)
and those pesky protestant dogs from burger king
always try to screw us by putting more meat
in their åucharist

my personal opinion
catolicism is not a religion it is commerce
and it is not really that bad
i mean perhaps it should be so
it has modelled the western civilization after itself after all
_______________________

about the game now
i think the ortodox should have a holy war as well
after all they lead so many holy wars
first against the fireworshipers (persians)
and afterwords against pagans
and finally against muslims
they all were holy wars
and were called so
very similar to jihad as well
dont know if youve heard the legend what the byzantines did
after the persians stole the Holy Cross

the pagans can have some sort of sacrifices devoted to their gods
(after all resourses are also envolved in crusades and holy war arent they)
which lead to huge armies of god-inspired warriors
ravaging enemy kingdoms

:cheers: @ Frank.

BG to 4zzy for being so "naive?" about us Americans. I'm sure you can form your own opinions, but please do not think all Americans are like those you see on TV and read about in newspapers. I am sure you would find it "naive" if Americans did the same thing towards Europeans. right?

regarding the game. Perhaps it would be politically correct for the crusades to never happen, and for Islam to be portrayed in a "holy aura" of peace and tolerance. But, this game should not have any political opinions outside of the context of a game. So, the crusades in KoH, as I have seen about it, will probably only amount to having the pope send out a decree calling for all western realms to send a certain amount of troops to aid in the pligrimage to the holy land, in return for a small amount of piety. (any thoughts Frank?) You could reverse it and have a Caliph do the same for the Islamic states.

this should be very interesting, I do not think a game has incorporated religious factions to such a degree before. Anyone know of another game that has depth in this feature?

--EDITED by ELEWYN AND TRANSFERED TO THREAD"Christianism vs. Islam" (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1299) IN ROYAL INN--
4zzy, I like your idea of sacrifises for pagan gods increasing the moral of pagan warriors

I agree with Elewyn, in the fact that the Christian religions were the most intolearant during taht time. Also, I am Catholic, bu I will have to say, waht the hell was the reason for the Spanish Inquisition? That, to me, is total religious intolerance. Where is the Viking(Pagan) Inquisition, or the Muslim Inquisition, hell, where is the Jewish Inquisition. For some reason, Christianity has had to be better than everyone else, especially during medieval times. Also, with Sir Turylon's comment about Islam, read the Koran, it will explain a lot about their belief system. I personally don not believe that Islam has a part in Terrorism, but it is those sick individuals that pervertedly interpret what the Koran says and take it to an extreme.:cheers:

yeahh, i'm also for the idea that the pagans should be able to sacrifice to their gods - they too should have piety.

Regarding the other issue - i think you should create a new thread in the royal in and fight it out there instead - otherwise the only thing you'll accomplish is that this thread will be closed and then the rest of us will get mad at you ! - you could also use PM !

You are right, Henrik. If anybody wants to continue in offtopic discussion about crusades political correctness, please use this thread. If it will be closed, it means that we are not allowed to discuss it any longer, so please, don't do it here (i don't want to risk closing this thread and opening another one with same topic)

so who is not interested in religions IN KNIGHTS OF HONOR, answer in this thread :Christianism vs. Islam (http://forum.sunflowers.de/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1299)

thanks.

Well, if you have bothered to look and clicked on the link in Elewyn's post just above your post then you'll notice that he has done something to stop it continuing further down this "wrong path".

Elewyn

no!
There may be caliph, but they keep it in secret now as many oter things :(
There are only some special religious features promissed for each religion, We know there is a pope and there are crusades for catholics.
Muslim world will probably get caliph as leading unifying power, but I guess he will have quite diferent functions and things to do. Caliph was far more only religious leader than somebody like the pope, claiming universal rule over all christians. He was closer to patriarch in Constantinople, religius leader under political influence of basileios(byzantine emperor) or protectors of Caliph (since cca 1000 Seljuks=Seljuks became leading political power of islam for 200 yrs) But after cca 1000 islamic world had broken into pieces, into smaller states with Egypt and some others as leading forces. But caliph should not have similar rights to the pope
