Any features having to do with day and night, other then purely aesthetic ones SHOULD BE REMOVED! I applaud you Frujin for understanding this. Don't listen to them.

First off you don't have to be rude about it. Second, I don't get your problem with it.

If they are talking about the AI then I'm ok with it but if they are taking that away from us then that makes no sense. It's a valid strategy and adds to the game, forces you to make camp, and plan your attacks better ,if you decide you want to take the penalty then that's a strategic choice and in fact adds strategy to the game. The only way you could not want it is if you're lazy player and just don't want to think.

there's no need for such attitude.

And it's you , kevincompton, again. please, would you be so kind and try to be more polite? thanks!

Day/night cycle - though not being much liked by me, I'd appreciate rather a summer/winter cycle - had some reasoning in game.

You, Kevin, just very loudly applaused to something that made it just esthetic feature. You contradict yourself. As long as you'd stay nice I would be ok, but not this.

So please, consider your words :go: politness costs you nothing and will just make you friends.

The same for Frost176
no matter who started, personal attacks are against forum rules.
When someone doesn't like something you like it doesn't mean he's bad or lazy!

I totally agree with you on the change of seasons thing, as that would really change your thinking on strategy depending on the season and penaltys especially in winter would make sense. I guess that will have to be a KOH2 feature if they make it(hope so).

As for the Day/Night, I just figured it made sense as many armies didn't march at night, there are exceptions but marching troops both day and night would hurt morale, not to mention the strength of the army once they got to the battle. Why don't you like it Elvain?, I respect your thoughts on it as you have really studied the game.

it just looks weird that your king lives some 5-6 days.

I don't really like it because it's another thing giving the player advantage:
AI rarely considers marching or not marching at night. He just acts as he wants, no matter the daytime.

And I prefere more reasonable seasons cycle, if the AI would be able to deal with it. (The last thing is that when you play my mod as Flandres or Holland in the late period and fight in night battle against the other it's extremely hard or rather impossible to tell your armies from the enemy's as their banners differ only in colour of the lion which at night looks the same - black )

what language? English? Forgive me..

I disagree, whats so wrong about that? Heres my reasoning, the time scale for the game on campaign view represents months in a matter of minutes, day and night periods are cycles of months in the game! I enjoy it for its aesthetic effects to the map, however I fail to see why it should have any bearing on strategic elements when the scale simply DOES NOT WORK.

I vehemently disagree with this element and no amount of vitriolic complaining from anyone here, will change that. So there.

Another comment I would like to add, Elvain you have my respect and your work on this forum is well recognized and appreciated, but I would ask that my choice in words and approach, providing they do not break forum rules (as I recognize they have in the past, but not in this case) be just that; my choice.

Nothing RUDE or inappropriate was mentioned in that past statement, I simply complimented Frujin is his decision and gave him the advice to ignore complaints against it. If you have an issue then argue it objectively and logically, don't leave that which might be opposed to assumption.

Many of you know that Kevin and I have had our disagreements in the past, but this time I must come to his defense! I fail to see the rudeness in his post, even after looking at it from every angle I could, I cannot find anything rude.

As a new person on the board though I have been reading this forum for over a year it comes across as abrasive. It makes someone not want to make suggestions or have any ideas. I have read his past posts and knowing that you can only take it one way...the mentality has already been established.

I'm done, it was a nice experiment but I realize why I don't post on forums very much. It's just not fun. I'll still be playing KOH though and will buy a KOH2 if it ever comes out, now that's fun :). Many of you guys are doing great work with mods and such, Thanks!.. those of us who maybe don't enjoy posting appreciate and love your work.

One parting word to Frujin..,when are you guys going to start hinting about your next game?,, I keep checking the Black Seas website for an update, can't wait :)

I enjoy it for its aesthetic effects to the map, however I fail to see why it should have any bearing on strategic elements when the scale simply DOES NOT WORK.So you seem to miss the logic of this feature, what means all your comments on this feature seem to be irrelevant. When an army marches, or plunders or fights at night, it's morale and stamina drops dramaticaly faster than of an army that rests at night.
That gives those who rest an advantage once they meet the exhausted army.

Many of you know that Kevin and I have had our disagreements in the past, but this time I must come to his defense! I fail to see the rudeness in his post, even after looking at it from every angle I could, I cannot find anything rude.Dobber, this post just simply describes what I have against Kevin's last post(especially considering his "idiots voting against him" in multiplayer poll)
As a new person on the board though I have been reading this forum for over a year it comes across as abrasive. It makes someone not want to make suggestions or have any ideas. I have read his past posts and knowing that you can only take it one way...the mentality has already been established.Once you disagree with him, you are either an idiot or someone who's not worth being heard, because HIS opinion is the best. Mostly without any reasoning, so demanded from the others.
You are right, that's not rudeness, that's arrogance.

I know that I often disagree with some other suggestions here too, but I always try to reason my statement by my experience from the game and thoughts if it could coexist with game logic as I understood it, or how could something like this work better - so develop the original idea.
And still when I disagree with some idea, I try to be nice to the author, just because he had offered something to the community what deserves respect. I never say: don't listen to him, I have the monopoly on truth.

Elvain, I'd like to remind you to keep the personal things out of this thread. I encourage you to talk with kevin and settle your issues - if you two agree you can do that in a public thread, so the discussion-rules of this forum stay in effect to enforce a constructive style of discussion.

And for the official stuff:
From here on it's a discussion about the content of the second patch. Offtopic discussions may be removed without notice.
(Sorry for having to do that, but I'm not willing to tolerate either a personal nor an offtopic discussion here. Get your sense together, folks.)

On the topic:
The featurelist should've included the increased mod-ability Frujin talked about in the modding section.

I just wanted to remind Kevin that it's good to be polite

Now I tried to clean my posts from personal comments (which are dealt via PMs), except where I tried to calm people down.

PS: PLAY WITH ME ON KOH, So what's the disappointment? Can't understand your post again

Angry, I think he featurelist clearly speaks about the increased modability of the patch.

and last comment, to Frujin. If you need help with KoH 2, I have a map for you  with 90 more provinces than actual map, a map which is little extended to east and south to include Mecca and Baghdad and touch the Caspian sea

YA! I'll be staying up late, seeing as how the time zone is different. ;)

Whats the time from GMT in Bulgaria?

nevermind, its +2, so maybe at like 11pm my time? I'm -8 so that should be 8 am in Bulgaria. LOL If not then I'll just wait until tomorrow.
