maybe Hvosno will be divided into Hvosno and Platkovo. Hvosno's capital would be Peč, Platkovo's capital Prizren...
It's not Peč but Peć, and yes, that would be good, because both towns were important.
thanks. it's typical czech problem in transcription of croatian and serbian names and I always forget that I shuold use ć :bash:. Sorry
I still think you shouldn't use such caracters, since they didn't exist in medieval times, but it's your choice.
Well, I don't know.. but I will probably use them in slavic names. But if possible I will probably use latin or greek or arabic names .. I am still not sure
btw, I fixed some details of the British isles:

Hoi Elvain
Will you count the Cak's "empire" in? In the maps?
--
secondly, the names of regions will be kept in original languages or english or latin..or?
1) I have now red something about Matus Cak and he ruled hungarian comitates, so his "empire" can be in the map (he ruled comitates of Presburg, Nitra, Trencin and partly alto in other "Slovakian" comitates
2) I have found nice site with latin names of many territories, so latin may the the way :hello:
I made some little progress so here is the actual stage of the map..
now I wait for atlas of muslim history from a library...
(and collect will to finnish Russia and fix some things in Germany, Norway and some other regions)

Great work. :go:

It's not important much for me at the moment as the map itself is only a first part of the project...
btw, Mirco, you might be interested in this map (http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/7963/kiskirlyokuralmiterletei9ti.jpg) of Hungarian magnates in 14th century...
It's an impressive map!
I see Zeeland is missing?
What is the greater project, Elvain, if this map is only part 1 of it?
oh, yes, Zeeland was forgoten to be painted on the first map 've drawn as I wasn't sure if to put there so small islands... it's just a question of will to draw it and put there.. it won't miss
I need to collect all possible data about the provinces (rulers, population, character of land, character of rule etc.).. and then find a company to start a game project based on it
Ah, very well - maybe just roughly indicate that it's there - I actually live almost as far away from Zeeland as is possible within the Netherlands
Seriously, Elvain, such a map - such work, such knowledge - you can use that potential! Maybe the EU4 people will be interested in it.. or just set up a company yourself. Or maybe publish it in some important magazine or small book..
Will the final map be of a higher resolution? That way you could put in the names etc. of provinces. Maybe even their Rulers, indeed.
those are possibilities that aren't unknown to me. The book would be much bigger than small.
For the other ideas there is still enough time, the map(and furthemore the project) is far from being finished.. and even now the revealed part (the map) is just about 1/2 of work on the project I have done
even now I have sometimes problems loading the map (when it's not just B/W)
I think about higher resolution to put there names, but rulers? all rulers between 800 and 1492?

Elvain, the people from "Boina Slava" are afaik currently working on more maps (although not necesarily for your project). I think that right now they're on church-administrative regions and later maybe on the komitats. And I think we could use a little bit more segmentation on the Bulgarian provinces, cuz they look a little bit too big. I could ask them to segment more if you agree...
Edit: I see that they're actually trying with the komitats from the end of Boris I's reign (end of 9th century). Here's (http://forum.boinaslava.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=6060) a temporal map, but the Transdanubian komitats should be much more divided. And right now there's a serious debate of how north should the borders be, so...
Edit2: Here's (http://www.ejercitosbizancio.net/map_biz_1025.gif) a map of the Byzantine themes (1025)
if there are sources for further division of Bulgaria, I will be always pleased to see it :go:
thanks for the maps, the one of byzantian themes in 1025 had some usefull info in areas where Byzantia wasn't extended before 1025 :go:
