I just think that when someone respects someone else he tries to call him in the right way. Maybe I am wrong.

If I would respect someone and keep calling his in a bad way I would feel quite bad, that's just the reason.
I respect Laudan and so I pointed it out (if it would be first or second time I would ignore it, but lord kevincompton calls him always wrong) because he must know his right spelling and he must know that he always types his nick wrong.
Could I ask why?

my english is imperfect - of course - it is not my mother tongue, but I try my best and when I realize I made a mistake I try to be more correct next time.
Sorry if I offended someone. I just asked from little more respect to Laudan who did so much for this game.
I think I don't ask that much or is it so big deal to spell someone's nick/name right?

No problem on my part Elvain, I totally agree that we should do our best to honor our fellow members by getting their names correctly spelled. I even try my best to get the lowercase/uppercase the same as they have it, just as you did with kevincompton. I figure if that is the way they spelled it, that is the way they wish to be recognized. And your English is quite good might I add. I might add that the spelling of users names correctly is not a hard thing to do, all you have to do is look at their name at the top of their post.

hehehe, i think it can accepted as a 'typo' if he pressed 'e' instead of 'a'?

it's not that big a deal really, if someone called me stormpants or something that couldn't possibly be a typo then it might be different, but if someone called me stornwinds i don't think it'd matter that much ;)

Cool...nice to see that some of the community is still alive.

Looking forward to the patch...

ok, but why should we call you stormpants when your nick is stormwinds?
and why to call one of the best modders (and IMO the best one) Lauden when his nick is Laudan?
what's the problem to type him correctly?:go:

but maybe I am completely wrong the best way how to express that I respect someone is to misspell his name/nick everytime I type it :silly: I think it is my ignorance that I don't understand it, sorry

wooow, Lord Frank Fay is back.

Elvain, i think you took what i meant the wrong way, i mean that saying 'Lauden' instead of 'Laudan' isn't making fun of it, or hurling insults at Laudan, its just a typo, like my example, if i called Laudan Laudpants then you could come and say i should be a little nicer and/or more respectful to others but if i made a little typo and thought Laudan was typed Lauden then its hardly a derogatory term (unlike Laudpants)

no one's english is perfect (just like you said yours wasn't) so a typo is forgivable =)

at least on a forum

but anyways thats all way off topic, so to put us back on topic...

can't wait for the new patch! :P

i wonder though, if it would be possible to add new ages to the ones currently available, as in early/high/late, that way mods would have a whole new realm to explore, and add to that if you could change the background image of the map then it becomes almost a whole new game, you could have the default times that came with the game, and then you could have... i dunno, a big map of the british isles for a normandy invasion or something, with all the tribes in britain holding their own territories and the invaders holding a freshly captured coastal settlement?

Yes, Elvain, my point wasn't to pick on you for having imperfect english. It IS my native tongue and mine is even imperfect. So a type is not a big deal. Though its dually noted that I should take more care in spelling names correctly, I feel that the tone of your responce was a bit over the line, especially in saying "its not that difficult."

On another note I hope they make AI more likely to burn your buildings! More challenge. The hard setting should be nearly impossible except for very experienced players.

It is a cult thing, the "Cult of the Game Modders", they are picky about that sort of thing, they want the proper recognition.

Naw, just kidding there! I don't know, it was probably just something that grabbed his attention at that moment, I don't think he has a personal problem with you. He as well as others, myself included feel that we should be more careful with the use of members names and call them correctly. There was a member that kept referring to me as Dogger, it is annoying when your name is misrepresented.

That was me:silly: , but you never corrected me, was Angryminer(I think) who corrected my error. I honestly never notice it, I would just type everything quick and I didn't notice I was putting the b's instead of the d's. That's the thing, most people(including myself) actually don't really care for their grammar when they are typing in the internet, that doesn't mean they write or talk that way thu, at least I don't when I'm not among close people.
English isn't my mother tongue either, and I don't care much for my grammar/spelling when I type in forums with other people since I think of them as friends and does any1 really cares for language when you are among know people? At least we don't in my culture:wink:
Now lets stop ranting and killing eachother over silly stupid mistakes, remember that most of us speak one language(our mother tongue) better than any other, and that at the end we are like one big family in a tiny space of the cyber world.:go:

Hey, nice to see you, Frank! Welcome back among the posters here! :go:
Btw, we're waiting for Nadine now... :rolleye:

Richard, I believe it was me who corrected you with that Dogger (and also that Xucan). And, frankly, yours was even worse than kevincompton's...
