If that is so, it would be not just great, it would be awesome! And it would give a great boost to all the modders here! I just feel how KoH is reviving for a new life! :hello:
hehe, KoH revival
Yes, the community survived and I hope it will be better and better by the release of the second patch :hello:

btw, another idea.
if there may be editor running, what about to give small possibility to make multiplayer running on small maps made in the Editor, maps with several provinces?
would it be possible?
I know I ask for little too much.. it's more question of a sequel than a patch, but still... it will make KoH fun last forever

And I hope this will convince the producers (be they SF or someone else) to start thinking about an expansion or a sequel for the future (but if they do, one word from me: Marketing)! Because this game shows an incredible strength and endurance, even after all those peripetees! :hello:

There are a lot of lost features, f.e. One could go about and fix together a complete sequel just by fixing those lost features that were dropped due to the timetable. *sigh*
Anyway, I'm looking forward to whatever happens with KoH in the near future. :go:

you got a point there
If they fix that we would have some new thgs to koh. which would make it harder to play

On the subject of marketing, one thing KOH should really do is make a better multiplayer experience with the whole campaign, then hire some gaming community people in the U.S. to just go to events and show off the cool features. Grassroots is an inexpensive way to really make a strong following for a product.
Also their online marketing was pretty weak and its not that expensive to get adds and reviews in the right places. Keeping up on all the profiles (like strategy gamer etc) and updating the website and most importantly, reviewer attention. Another good thing to do is try and convinve www.civfanatics to add a forum for KOH. They have one for Rise of Nations and KOH would be much more appealing to civ fans then stupid RON, if you ask me.
interestng ideas...
true is that marketing was not among the strongest parts of KoH

it's a shame, KoH is not even mentioned in any of threads there(in "other games") shame on propagation
Hey, nice to see you, Frank! Welcome back among the posters here! :go:
Btw, we're waiting for Nadine now... :rolleye:
Richard, I believe it was me who corrected you with that Dogger (and also that Xucan). And, frankly, yours was even worse than kevincompton's...
Well that Xucan was only one time:rofl:
Anyways, it would be great if a map editor was released, image the mods:rolleyes:

When the patch comes out, if it does what it needs to as far as fixing big problems, I will go to the other game forums I'm on and in the appropriate sections post a thread about KOH. Civfanatics has a forum for "Other Games" posting there would get people to buy it for sure. So if they are smart an exansion pack could also add all of they didn't actually impliment but already started and guarantee some more money.
You won't believe me guys but I had a dream that KoH map is extended with down to Arabia and Persia :D
well, if Frujin teaches us how to use the editor I will sure do it

Judging from the time-frame from his last post to his renewed presence I'd estimate something between late 2007 and mid 2008.
(Just joking  )

 well, we'll see, I hope it will be sooner... at least late 2007
Holy Shizer, that would be sweet if there would be a map editor.:silly: Then, people can created certain parts of europe in more detail, like the balkans, english isles, german, russia, and so on, and make them into specific campaign theatres, and of course the middle east for Elvain:biggrin:. Anyways, I know its a bit of topic, but does anyone know if there exists a Serbian KOH clan, and if they do there website if they got one:go:.
There's no Serbian clan at the moment, as far as I know.

one thing i'd like to see in the map would be better natural defences for some towns, i think a polish town (in most of the periods anyways i think) called Krakov or something. along with another town nearby it have some nice natural defences, krakov (sorry if i'm spelling it wrong =s just recalling from memory here) for instance has steep slopes surrounding it while the other town sits beside a mountain, and can only be attacked from the north and the west since there is the mountain to the east and a cliff to the south of it (as in right outside its walls) and i think those two look really great =D
also it seems to me like the african areas of the map are a little barran... i mean i know they are supposed to be so, but let me put it this way, if you play in europe, or even southern europe bordering the sea you have plenty of nearby provinces to conquer and your empire may be small but it will be tightly packed with cities. on the other hand, playing in africa you can have huge empires, and control maybe 3 or 4 provinces =/
if they made up for this by having more villages/farms/etc in those provinces it may feel a little better, but its just plain barren down there =/
so if anyone enhances the current map with more lands on the map/different landscapes then please make the north african coast liven up a bit! (i'm counting on you Elvain :P)

Krakov does have natural barriers in the game, check it out. As for Africa I think it is as it should be.
I think in african coast there should be much more provinces, but the same is in Europe...
as the game is focused on Europe I found it ok.. yet
If it would be possible to edit the map, I would like to put there more provinces...
