I have a real suggestion for a patch:
I want negative town tributes. Today I found out that town tributes may be negative, but the money is never actually drawn from your treasury. Only positive town tributes counts, the negative ones aren't counted at all and have no effect.
Angryminer
they have effect. Look at kingdom income. Before you finish a building with negative, say 3 gold effect kingdom income is higher (of 3 gold) than after you finnish it. It has effect it is only not displayed in kingdom wealth window

I just tried it.
The province of Nassau had a calculated town tribute of -20.
The kingdom had a total balance of +235.
I constructed drum towers. The town tribute was now -21, because drum towers cost 1 gold per turn.
The kingdom had still a total balance of +235.
+235 is the sum of all positive town tributes. There are 12 provinces with negative town tributes which do not influence the balance.
This is a mayor bug, I think.

 strange, it works for me.

anyway 1 more q:
has anything new, concerning the patch no.2 come up? i havent been on for a few weeks and am curious if anything new is up...
I think nobody from BSS haven't been over here while you were away (or at least they gave us no news)
 no I offer exactly the oposite: if anybody needs a help
PS: it would be very nice if anybodyform BSS will say if somehing has changed now when NA release is planned. Do you plan some more work on Knights of Honor if it is selled in North America? Frujin? or anybody else from BlackSeaStudios?

I asked the same question in the BSS forums and Fujin gave a small comment here (http://www.blackseastudios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32).

OK, so our next questions should be:
Could we please hear from Sunflowers? Are they considering renewing work on KoH if it sells well in North America?

I just talked with Nadine Knobloch, our most grateful and benevolent Lady from Sunflower's public relations-department.
The statement is in progress, but it will require some days of thoughts.

"statement is in progress"...that sounds good, very good indeed. I am very satisfied with the state of the game but would of course love to have some cream on top of it. :go:

Just to be certain, as a whole, our two main concerns are still AI and multiplayer capability in the full game, or at least a multiplayer experience that is more similar to the KoH spirit, right? The first doesn't sound hard to fix, just a couple of sub-routines. The latter is much more difficult to implement, but I'm sure it can be accomplished.

Both are imensely hard. I talk about realistic things like "AI won't carry 4 siegecrafts + 9 units" and the like.
But we'll see.

I cant possibly imagine how they could implement an MP strategy map. That's just far from the scope of a patch. It's even out of scope for an add-on and many have tried but failed (Anno 1503, CA with Total War games...even Firaxis had lot's of problems with it, and CIV3 is turned based)...this must really be there from the beginning as it was the case with Lords of the Realm 3 (you may not like the game but MP works perfect).
No...if there's a new patch, they should focus on the subroutines of the AI (so it will build top armies and also aim more on the city of a province) and the difficulty settings.
I also think that AI should be the main thing to be improved in the patch. Even the add-on should include mainly new features in singleplayer more than giving multiplayer strategy map. It is just impossible dream. I rather prefere "smaller" changes.
Let's dream about KoH2 with map of european regions in Multiplayer

Yeah, I agree MP for KoH is difficult, but it is do-able. And even I don't think the full game should be the focus of MP aspirations, instead they should try smaller maps, as in Lords of the Realm II. Maybe just a region, say the British Isles or Scandanavia. That would be less complex in nature, plus it would mean human players would be near enough to one another to make a difference. As for the AI, yes, the concentration should definitely be on getting the computer to build useful buildings, strong units and gain kingdom advantages. Neither of those three things seem too difficult a task for a patch.

After all this time, my copy is coming. Hand delivered from the UK by a friend's grandparents, days ro go
That said, I would really like to see KoH2 as a full blown MP over Europe, but for now I'd like to see an addon to allow 2-6 players (maybe) MP on a region too!!
Reunite the Ottoman Empire, Hail Rome, unified England, Viking Invasions, Papal supremacy, and so on. The list of scenarios is endless.
One final wish, if I knew a genie, I'd use all 3!!!, would be able to play with One Country per player (England, Germany, Turks, etc.) with the AI filling in the others non player towns, from start of Medieval period right through to the Late period. You would get bonuses for each period, and extra "end point" for meeting the history goals of your chosen country.
A pity you cannot play each of the 3 periods, and have a total score for the ending, instead of conquering everything, being voted leader, etc.
Anyone know a genie?

It's been a long time and I haven't played this game since late 2004. I thought I would check back in to see if anything had changed now that there is finally a North American release. Promising to hear that a statement is in progress.
I truly hope they spruce up the AI and I am still hoping for a true MP capability. Such a good game, a shame it lacks just a little polish that was never applied.

Play the game in the Demo version it is pretty hard. But I think with all the players on the same playing field we might outsmart the game quicker than it does us.
But that the fun of playing againts others that are online. :)
As I said, the game is almost perfect. Just there is too many too good strategists wo think that AI is too weak to compete with them...

If they did KOH II, it will be great.
