but he wrote:
you can continue discussing there.

@ frank fay & frujin
did you definitly decide that there will be no names of towns?

cause frujin eventually wrote:
Although we have both territory name and town name supported by the engine, there IS an issue about the naming of places. Please, be patient a bit more (I know, I know you hear that too often) and we will explain how it is after we finish polishing the game in this area.

No, I represented current status. Frujin makes final commitment.

To Serbia. I know, how the Serbs and Croats like each other, but there was kingdom of Raschka, which was IMPO ruled by Serbs and name Stepan Nemanja you will probably know also, when he was king of Serbia in 14th cent.

Relations between Croats and Serbs have nothing to do with my judgement. My comment was merely an observation that there was no Serbia as 'Serbia', of course the Serbs had their own kingdom/state Rashka which was in the area of todays Kosovo(thats why so much tension between Albanians and now minorty of Serbs there).

Serbs were also an integral part of Bosnia parts especially at later stages, although Bosnia before the invasion of Turks in 15th century was primarily a Croatian province and later independant kingdom (this was a way to avoid Hungarian Kings as their own kings).

Also this bad relations between Croats and Serbs begun somewhere at the end of the 19th century when the Serbs expansionist politics and movement started to grow and when they started to claim all Croats are actually Serbs and that all Croatian lands are Serb lands, this all culminated at 1990s, but this conflict was something that was brewing for over 70 years, before the start of the WW2.

In middle age Croats and Serbs treated each other as brothers and helped each other, King Tomislav who is considered to be the first King of Croatia went to war with Bulgarians to help Serbs.

I think authentic province and town names would be an extremely nice touch in the game.

A town called "Bulgaria" or "Poland" or "Austria" just does not have a nice ring to it :)

Ta-daaa .... !!!

Well, .... THANKS!

If it was not you, we wouldn't make the Realm/Town names different. But your urge seemed too strong to resists ...

We hav now separate town and realm names.

Special thanks to Elewyn and all supporters!

Final list will be revealed ... well ... at some point!

P.S. Ergh ... aa .. I ... as a Game designer ... am actually VERY happy about that. It was right thingie to do :)

Wow!!! I think this game will be great, I mean this is for the first time that I see game producers actually listening to "fans" and implementing stuff they suggested.

Great job! :go:

Yeahh, i'll agree that it's really nice to see ideas from the fans implemented in the game - this IMO also shows the stuff that a company like Black Sea Studio is made of..........one can only hope that other companies will soon follow in their (BSS) steps, now that they have shown the way :go:

Allright... this is nice. I understand why they hesitated on this though. In some regions it's really hard to decide how to name the towns.

oh.. there was one post by Krum the Terrible which was very interesting. I wanted to answer, but haven't anoough time and now, when the time is, post disappeared :(

I don't know if you meant my maps (http://elvain.album.cz/map-suggestions/) or historical maps (http://www.euratlas.com/time2.htm)

REALLY BIG SORRY for Elewyn. I was thinking that historical maps are yours, but obviasli they aren't and I have nothing against your
maps. I just wanted to say that theare isn't Empire of Bulgarians and Vlachs or Srednogorie like separated kingdom. Sorry again
Elewyn.

Don't be sorry. I only thought tjhose maps are good to believe them (as main frame-maps).

Their positive (but contemporarily also negative) is that they are strict t dates. So f.e when Hungary close before 1300 was attacked by Mongols, splited into pieces for few years and got united in short time, there is divided because in 1300 it was like this.

In my maps I try to define longer lasting states which are covering particular period (I hope KoH team will do it too) however sometimes those states were not like that in certain year.

Hi Elewyn,

what year do you estimate map-high?
I see you have Balts as a faction in you maps.
You know, that there was never unified political unit as Balts, same as there never was unified unit as Slavs.

I guess it is not that bad in early period, because that period is so obscure historically in that area...
But high period would be very different if it starts about 1200s or later. Then Lithuania was already an entity and a power to be reconned with.

i was wondering if the part of the early map that is baby blue and has the trident symbal in it was slav teritory because the trident look alot like the symbal of Ukraine
i have a link with a picture of the Ukrainian symbal:
http://flagspot.net/flags/ua-arms.html
and if it is then i think its a little hight up. I think it should be closer to the black sea because it looks like Kiev is not even inclooded in the baby blue zone.(unless my map of the world on my wall is a little off) Kiev was build about 500 A.D.
