Your right with that.
Good statement and post anyway.

I think it should be like as an example King of Swabia.

When the player has conquered few other "regions" he should be called King of Germany.

When the player established the whole german regions and the other parts, then he should be called Emperor or King of the Holy Roman Reich!!!

How is that opinion?

cheers

well, i never claimed any logic :bday:

the bottom line is: it makes no sense to use actual state just for getting people not wonder themselves: why the hell lithuania is that big? in my map its sooo small. these "fools" from bss have no idea from geography?!? :D

No, in that case - people are going to wonder - what does England doing in France, too.
I don't think that lack of people's knowledge is argument enough to "dumb down" the game.
I feel much more immersed in the games that have something authentic in them - something that I did not know. On the other hand - I cannot play "dumbed down" game for long - I start to feel like an adult playing with 10 year old's toys.

So if people wonder - why Lithuania is so big in Middle Ages - they may feel inclined to read some history.

Actually Lithuania was a very bad example chosen by Angyminer, because it did in fact exist under that name in Middle Ages...

I have a question here about vassality:

Can a vassal state of some other state have it's own vassals?

Like f.e. when Bohemia is vassal of HRE, can a king of Bohemia have f.e. prince of Silesia(independent state) as his vassal? If yes, how are the relations between HRE and Silesia? is Silesia also vassal of HRE or not?

In one treasury-screenshot we see lines for both being vasall and for having vasalls, so I guess both is possible at the same time.

yes you can be only Vassall to one kingdom but you can have many vassalls.

He didn't forget. It is not possible at the same time to have vassals and to be a vassal.

do you mean here 57,5% now and 73% in german forum?

But in other hand, in What nations do you wanna play I'm very disappointed that soo many people write Germany instead of HRE, but the fact is that f.e. I didn't voted for none of them in that thread...

...we, the history party...
You seem to represent Liberal History Party :)
Conservative History Party [me] argues that both 'Germany' and 'HRE' are wrong names in this case.

dam this thread is long and I just read through all of it, I voted for HRE for 2 reasons
1. M:TW is one of the best games ever!:bday:
2. The argument is stronger for HRE imho. :)

Conservative wing of the History Party [me] claims that HRE without Austria, Brandenburg, Bohemia, etc, etc is not a HRE (http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/historical/shepherd/roman_empire_1138_1254.jpg).

What to call it then? Um... Simply 'German States' not good enough?

All this thinking about Germany makes me thirsty. Good thing my friend Hacker-Pschorr [Weisse] is waiting 4 me in the fridge.
