(the right answer to my question is the only which wasn't chosen yet, so the one who posts first should ask a question)

In which of those years was NO civil war in Switzerland?

a) 1847
b) 1442
c) 1531
d) 1602
e) 1656

Either you had many civil wars, or there are multiple choices... C)?

Kuno of Gersenau

No, you're wrong. 1531 was the first religion war between catholics and protestants.

No multiple choice, but yes, we had many civil wars, but actually most people don't even know about one. They were mostly caused by religious problems. Eventhough they actually were no real civil wars, because the diffrent cantons were de facto independent states until the 19th century.

Elvain

so 1442? there should be no religious problems back then  unless you had hussites there

funny. Today I heard about plan to apply swiss model on Israeli-Palestinian problem. And then considering the number of wars... Well if Israelis and palestinians would be given the same time as the Swiss between 1291 and 1848 there could be then a peacefull sohabitance of those 2 nations :peace:

No you're wrong as well.

It's right, that there were no religious problems, but political. Zurich and the central Cantons of Schwyz and Glarus all wanted to expand their territory in the same direction. This finally lead to a war between Zurich and the other mambers of the Eidgenossenschaft (confederation?)

Don't think this would work there, swiss system grew with time and as well neded a war before being installed in the way it is today.

I have no idea for a new question at the momnt, so first one who has an idea should feel free to ask...
