ok,

According to Immanuel Wallerstein's theory of post-WWII world system, the Prague Spring 1968 liberal movement was against:

1) pro-Western reforms of communism
2) Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia
3) proposals of Czechoslovak government to invite Germans back to "the Sudeten region"
4) domination of USA

2) Sovjet occupation?

Elvain

no, Soviet occupation came to stop Prague Spring 1968

I should have said the theory is kinda absurd

1.)

The events of the Prague Spring deepened the disillusion of many Western leftists with Marxist-Leninist views = led to the eventual dissolution or break-up of many of these groups.

catt is right.

the theory was really completely out of reality claiming that 20th century was a fight between Germany and the USA for hegemony. According to this theory USSR was given half of world in order to defend US interests there. So Soviet intervention was planned in the White house

Pregue spring 1968 was a movement which tried to reform communism, in fact to get it closer to the Western world, not against it. Soviet occupation came to defeat the liberal movement.

The events of the Prague Spring deepened the disillusion of many Western leftists with Marxist-Leninist views = led to the eventual dissolution or break-up of many of these groups.it was perhaps the most positive outcome of Prague Spring: people realised that communism cannot be reformed

Why is magma produced at the mid-ocean ridges?

A) Because the plates rub against each other, producing enough heat to melt the stones.
B) Because water enters the rocks and lowers the melting point.
C) Because hot, molten material rises up from inside the earth.
D) Because stones melt due to the sudden release of pressure (the crust is less thick).
E) Because the decay of radioactive minerals produces enough heat to melt the crust along the ridge.
F) Because geomagnetic waves from inside the core cause particles to move faster and thus cause the material to melt.

There was a report about Mantle Convection and Seafloor Spreading.
I think it has to be C. Because they told something about the rising mantel material at a depth of 100km starting to produce magma, which is extruded along the axis of the mid-ocean ridge and build new ocean crust... Anyway, I´m an amateur, but it´s a very interesting subject.

So, my guess C.

B? Don't know really...

Kuno of Gersenau

Could it be D?

I would have said C as well, at least this is what was told me in school as far as I remember...

D is right!

The crust is much less thick across the mid-ocean ridges. This means a LOT less pressure and consequently the material melts. The transportation of heat ("hot spots") is important for volcanism in the middle of the plates, e.g. in Hawaii. A high water-content primarily causes rocks to melt in a subduction zone (like the Andes).

And your guess is right. Oscar Swahn, a Swedish shooter who was born in 1847, won a silver medal at the Olympic games of Antwerpen in 1920. :go:
