Stfu, Sparta was the ultimate warrior state. And Frank Rijkaard renovated it in the 21st century, even though they relegated...

That's something negotiable, I think. Roman military organization and tactics was very different from that Spartans used. And as far as I know, Romans were crazy about greek (Athens, first of all) achievements in culture. Only the fact, that Romans changed their gods and adopted Greek pantheon undoubtedly proves it.

yes, yes, Spartan military system was very far from Roman, while Roman culture copied Greek culture in most cases. And Athens were cultural superpower in ancient Greece.

Where is TKS' resolution? And what was source of your - as we see, very doubtable - question?

Hector

Nope Romans didnt like Greek culture they hated it because it didnt match with the Roman ideas... but however the bravery of Spartans and all always stunned the Romans..

Remember Emperor Augustus visiting Sparta to thank them for their ideas and all

btw where did u get the info that Romans changed their Gods?

- Romans took the culture ideas from Greeks (and from Etruscan (arcs and masonry)). Architecture details are Greek, look to the building style. It's Greek and not for example Persian. Gods are also "copied" from Greeks, but names are changed. -

As Bagpipe said, this is very negotiable. Romans copied many things from Greek culture (that's why some say "Victi victimus" or "Conquered, we conquer"), adopted some parts of Greek philosophy (the Stoic philosophy), but despised the Greek affinity to luxury in the times of the Republic. But in the Empire they were pretty close to the Greek style of living and the mass use of Greek language proves it. So the answer depends on many things.
