Second meeting? What second meeting? Hey, I'm kinda depressed, so just don't push me! And why should I always lead the meetings? Doesn't anyone else have ideas he/she (yeah, Heretic's also a character here, although she doesn't write) would like to share? Well, I'm translating something right now and when I finish (and if I have time) and if nobody's written anything I might write something short... Maybe...
@Traveller, you mentioned at the end of post #1015 there would be another meeting the next morning to further discuss the plans. I could miraculously be healed and lead the meeting I guess. Everybody else had just reached the region and does not know the situation in Adrianople, what preparations your people have already made or what they are facing in this battle they have come to fight for your homeland!

If Traveller's too busy, you could write the meeting like a scribe, and not as Sir Dobber's log. Just a thought...

There is nobody in camp that knows the situation facing us except Traveller and Dobber. Dobber was alone when he found the southward marching armies! There is no one to speak what he knows, and he is in deep sleep right now.
Maybe some of the other guys might recall if they and Dobber had discussed the task at hand.
I don't really get it, but is what you are trying to say that only Traveller can lead the meeting?
Not necessarily but who knows anything about the amount of troops our allies have stationed at Adrianople right now. Who knoes the situation in the land we are going into. I guess Travellers King who came with him to camp knows but who speaks for him? Traveller.
Go for it, lead the meeting!
Come down man, no one is pushing you. We have to wait for you or someone else( some one can become the Tzar or something) that knows what the hold thing is. According to the story, we just came from the north and we don't know the situation here, only the people here; Dobber, you, angry and kuno. Maybe someone can become the Tzar or a general from the bulgarian army and lead the second meeting. Also you had the idea of the meeting in the first place, so we don't know what you have in mind, WHICH doesn't neccesarily means that we don't have "ideas".You were making the hold thing based in like bulgarian history, of which I know as much as I know if there are "aliens" outthere.
If you are busy then don't write anything simple, no one is pushing you to do it. We will wait then. Write when ever you like, I personally don't care..... The forum is almost dead anyways.
The forum is almost dead anyways.
Yeah, no one cares about our story but us! We could stop writing and no one would care.

First, Richard, it's not Dogger, but Dobber!
Second, if you didn't like my history lessons, you could've said it before, as I asked. But I thought a short preview of the situations with the enemy "alliances" might be helpful and some of you could take and use it. Nobody did and it's not my fault!
Third, Dobber, it's not a king, but a tsar. Tsar is Slavic form of Emperor. People in those times cared very much of their right titles, you know...

Traveller's Log - The month of Chrven (July), day 3rd
Second meeting
After yesterday's meeting, we all went to our tents tired and sleepy. And some of us had to get up early this morning. I wanted to meet Xuca before the second meeting, as I still can't believe he's alive. He told me more about this Frankish Knight and his son and I told him of the "assault" of Adrianople. But just when I got there a soldier came and said everybody's waiting for us. Bah, nervous foreigners! As if they can't use the free time to get to know each other. Although they'll have plenty of time on the road... Anyway, we prepared for the meeting and entered the tent. Indeed, all were waiting for us, even my tsar! I apologized and the meeting continued from where it had ended last night. Tsar Samuil explained them what to expect from the enemy, what is the terrain ahead etc. King Xuca mentioned about Romean soldiers wanting to be hired as mercenaries in his army and the tsar suggested that he hires them and keep an eye, so that we might get to know something more. King Hawk Knight also said that he has just received a letter from his homeland and because of the troubles with some barbaric tribes, he has sent his special forces of dragons back home. This obviously disappointed Sir Richard, as he wanted to use them and bring some bows from Anglia.
So, now we're leaving. Hawk Knight has already ordered to break camp, so that we don't waste time. Those people really are eager to fight! I can't understand that - don't they know all the sufferings of war? Like Plato has said a long time ago: "Only the dead see the end of the war"... Hah, what would Sir Richard think if he heard me quoting Plato! I think he's wondering how an ex-servant like me knows not only to read and write both on Bulgarian and Greek, but also that I'm quite familiar with history. I guess he has much to learn for me and Bulgaria! But that doesn't matter now, because I must hurry. At the end of the meeting I asked my tsar (and all the others, of course) to let me ride forward with some 300 armoured horsemen. I'm worried that when we reach Adrianople it will already be under siege. True, we left somewhere around 40 000 men as garrison there and they're led by the khavkhan and Angryminer (I hope Kuno's getting better), but we don't know how many are the Arab-Roman forces. And if we do find a siege, we'll need someone to warn the main army, so that it doesn't fall right into the enemy's hands. Because we'll probably reach the city from the north and we'll need to know which side to choose - the eastern or the western bank. The enemy would most probably be on the eastern one, but I don't want to transport the whole army accross the Maritza river directly into the battle* (http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a71/Nike_Raido/PlannabitkatapriOdrin.jpg). That's why now my men are preparing the horses and some food supplies and when they're done - off to Adrianople. It's also a plus that we won't have to pull the heavy transport-supply carts along the mountainous roads, so we'll be quite faster than the army core.
Now I'll go say goodbye to the others before I leave...
*This is a plan of another battle of Adrianople from 1205, but it could give you a basic idea of the city plan. To the north where the actual battle took place the terrain was highly broken, wooded and swampy.
Very good Traveller :go:
@Richard and Dobber: Don't say those things
As I see it, this forum is as lively as any other forum, only in this forum we are more close. In others forums where there are 400 members online all day you don't get a minute air time and you're easily shoved to the side(and ofcourse; no games! )..........but in this forum everybody is a "Lord" and not a "Peasant".
Don't know what you all think about the forum but that's mine opinion anyways.
(sorry for preaching, I usally don't do that)
How about a beer, Erich?
@Navatar, have you seen anyone that was not a bard asking about the continuance of the story? Or commenting on it in any way?
I don't necessarily think the forum is dead, but it is in a coma right now with some occasional delusion, much as Sire Dobber in the story!

First, I know I always get it mix up, you should have allready know :silly: :megawall: it has been changed
Second I never, ever said I didn't like your history lessons. If anything I like your historic twist to the story, because I'm actually learing somehting  I will quote my own words You were making the hold thing based in like bulgarian history, of which I know as much as I know if there are "aliens" outthere. , meaning I know nothing about it, only some minor things like that Bulgaria was ruled by the Otto empire from 1500?-17???. This means that If I was to lead the "meeting in the story" I couldn't possibly make it correctly as you have, because you are using like a mixture of history and imagination in your story.
A beer plz
