Well, I don't know. I prefer Angry to lead the battle! I could eventually write some minor thing after then...

Yeah, I thought Angry was all set to go with his next installment a week ago!

You didn't want them changing the story, so that yours didn't fit anymore. I was just trying to tie your part to their part and you are looking at it in a negative kind of way. We don't know what you saw on the battlefield that brought on your attack at that moment. And at the stage of the story I am in, there has not been opportunity for me to write anything about reasoning behind your sudden attack. Another option is for me to delete that from my last post and you delete your "ultimate and only hero" post made when you were leaving the forums, and rejoin the main army in our battle plans now. I think everyone would be happy to have you rejoin the writing team now. The only reason you wrote what you did then was you wanted to write your part then because you were leaving, you are back now, delete it and help us fight this battle. Personally I am tired of fighting trying to keep everyone else true to the timetable and storyline you have set for us. That wasn't exactly being fair to the rest of us back then.

Lol I was just been sarcastic, I dont care what you guys make up. I don't want to delete that coz then I will have to start writing again, and you guys write something once every 2 months:wink: . Just make up it as you like:cheers:

Then we have the right to diminish your "super-hero" role a bit.
Because, I agree - your jump ahead in time was quite unfair to the rest of us. Oh, well, at least this time limit brought some more life in the story. Now, if we could add some more indeed...

I think I may have already diminished it a bit, according to Richard I have made him look like an idiot!

Lol, well is kind of ture I just charged instead of waiting for them to be on range:silly: . Anyways I was just playing around, I don't really care:biggrin: I just want to see some steam going here, comn I want to see you guys bringing constantinople down:cheers:

Hmm, I'm not so sure about Constantinople... I mean, the culmination of the story will obviously be Adrianople! Whether we win or lose or just repulse the Romeo-Arab army, this is the culmination! After that we could eventually march to Constantinople to sign a nice peace treaty (if we win). At least I don't see an option how to increse the tense again...
Oh, and thanks for the beer!

New Byzantine allies with our lands undefended?

Traveller

Did we deal with the Hungarians? Anyway, this wouldn't bring much more tension - it would only separate our forces and prolong the story...

Navatar's Journal
In the eyes of Travis
I have decided to 'refresh' my assassin skills on the unexpecting bysantine commanders. I was rather skilled at being an assassin before Navatar enlisted me in his services and I hope I got some 'skills' yet.

The battle is going strong between the allies and bysantines and I heard that the battle have moved into the city. I have scouted the area and I know where the enemies commanders resides in the main camp. I will make my move at nightfall.

*Couple of hours after midnight*
That will be hard to shake of I can imagine. It wasn't easy to infiltrate the camp but when a guard was taking a leak I sneaked hastly in the camp and hid behind a wagon. After a short while I knew where some of the captains tents were and it was very easy to sneak into the tent, slit the throat of the captain and move on to the next. It's brutal I know, but this is war.
I had succesely removed five captains before I came to what I thought was the supreme commanders tent. I knew that this was a golden opportunity so I sneaked closer. The tent was guarded by two big guards with swords. At first I didn't know how to make ditract the guards but then I went so low that I just threw a rock on a branch some yards right from the tent and hoped that the guards would go investigate. They noticed the sound and after some silent discussion one of the guards went to the direction were the sound was made. Now I made my move. I sneaked close I could before I took a rock and smashed it one the guards head. Before he fell I managed to grab onto him so his fall wouldn't make a sound. I draged the body behind the tent fast and sneaked into the tent. It was a rather bigger tent then the others but with few decorations. There was many maps on a improvised wall on the side and many other documents on a table. In the far corner of the tent lay a long and muscualar man on a rugged bed. He was sleeping on his back with his sword on his stomache. I moved fast before the guard would return. Then something unfortunate happened. Something made the man on bed twitch and he rose extremely quickly. When he noticed me with a dagger in hand he shouted something in a weird language and began to charge me. I knew I wouldn't have a chance so even before his 'war call' was ended I had already left the tent and was running into the nearest trees. A pair of guards noticed me and started to run after me but they had their armor on and they didn't knew the forest as good as I and quickly I escaped.

It was unfortunate that I was discovered as this will increase the security and will perhaps also increase the soldiers battlelust to revenge their captains. I just hope I did more good than bad...Well then, now I can only watch as this battle continues. I will move to a better location to get a better view so I can send detailed messages to my king.

Just a side-plot on the story. And perhaps a oppourtunity for a bard to take the side of bysantines as the commander in the main camp.

So, let's see wether I can fix a storypart together that fits all other parts... It's getting a bit complicated because the storyline now melts togther with Richard's part...

Angryminer's Tale
Another chapter that wasn't written down.

Angryminer, Traveller, Kuno, Hawk Knight, Dobber and Richard all met just behind the front of the army. It was a strange meeting. Fate brought these men together and they felt that this might be the end of their journey. As much as they were happy to see each other they also felt that this also was a goodbye at the same time.
Trying not to think of his the men discussed the strategy. The combined forces were moving forwards towards the south, along the east of Adrianople. The commanders agreed that the army had to use the current weakness of the combined byzantine forces.
Dobber had brought most of the army into an effective formation. The other forces were brought in position around the main army. Angryminer wanted to command his 30 thousand men he led out of the city as these men were used to him as their leader. His men were already on the west side of the main army so the commanders decided that they should stay there to not exhaust them. Richard, who came with the main army and commanded mixed troops, and Hawk Knight, who was still the commander over most of the heavy cavalry, decided to cover the east flank of the army, though Hawk Knight wanted to stay behind the front line, to be able to maneuver behind the front line quickly with his horsemen, or even start a flanking maneuver along the east of the enemy's army.
Sire Dobber, Traveller and Kuno decided to command the rest of the main army, each commanding a third of the remaining men (approximately 45 thousand each, as Richard also has men under his command).

The byzantine reserve troops that were moving northwards when Angryminer left the town fell back into the Byzantine main army while the Byzantines hastily reorganized their army to put up a defensive formation until the melee fighters from within the city are ready to engage in combat.
Fewer than half an hour later the two armies were in archer-range and skirmishing began. The archers on both sides shot arrows at each other to weaken the morale of the troops. As the amount of archers was rather equal on both sides, but the allied army currently had more melee fighters available the allies would soon start an attack.
Angryminer was the first to start moving his men. He was also the one who would encounter the byzantine heavily armed troops first, as they were coming out of the city from the west, so he was the one who wanted to move fowards the most. Traveller, just eastwards to his side, also moved forwards to cover Angryminer's approach.
*Revised part here!*
Just shortly after Angryminer and Traveller left their position and a second before Dobber wanted to command his men to also start marching Dobber found himself utterly surprised when he watched the west flank. Richards troops were in disorder, moving towards the east to a hill and just shortly afterwards Hawk Knight's Horsemen were also moving towards that position. Dobber couldn't see any troops in that direction but concluded that there must have been a hidden dispatchment of enemy troops behind the hill.
The army was now in a difficult situation. The right flank of the army, with Angryminer and Traveller, has already started to move forwards and it was too late to call them back, while the left flank of the army was at disorder and fighting a byzantine and arab dispatchment that most of the allied army couldn't see. Dobber and Kuno were now in command of the only men that weren't moving. What would they do? Move forward to assist Traveller and Angryminer in the fight against the soon appearing armed byzantine troops? Or move towards the west to fight a contingent of troops they couldn't see and didn't know wether help was needed or wether the east flank would collaps without their help?
End of this chapter.

Firstly, towards Dobber: You said Hawk Knight charged "the enemy positions". I took the lyrical freedom to delay the position of the enemy to the east. That way the charge is unexpected, but still heroic. I thought that was a good solution and it isn't too far away from your words, even though you propably intended a different meaning.
Also this nicely fulfills Richard's prophecy. He was rained at with arrows and he and Hawk Knight charged. The battle is at stake as the allied army is in disorder and Richard has an excellent chance to die (oh, the lucky one  ). And additionally we get a great chance to have a close battle.
I'm expecting the one or the other post from the other bards now. Obviously Kuno and Dobber have to decide what to do. You will have to choose what position you currently have. I am on the far west, near the city walls. Traveller is east of me. Then one of you can choose the center position or east position. On the far east Richard is currently under fire and north of him Hawk Knight is charging the invisible enemy (of unknown troops, other than mounted archers).

Oh yes, my pint...

Great, Angry, really great! You just fit all the stories really perfect! You surely deserved your three rounds of beer! :go:
One question though: Where exactly am I? If you're to the west of the city, then you're either in the short space between the river and city or beyond the river. If it's the latter, then I'm just to the west bank of the Hebros and you're further west into the plains, right?
