Ah, no, I'm out of the story - too less time and too much work.
Yeah, sure. I'm betting you have just been bribed by the Roman leader and will soon turn against us and fight on their side
How could you Traveller! :nono:
A mug of mead over here Eric! (to drink away the saddness of the lack of snow up here)

No snow in Sweden, while there's snow in Bulgaria?
It's true. Maybe very up north but in most part of Sweden there is no snow (maybe some rimfrost but nothing more). It's dreadful I tells ya!
I'm just hoping there will be a huge snow storm just before Christmas. To get in the christmas-spirit.

No! Well, if I find enough time around the holidays, I'll see if I can write something.
Btw, you came with and for Nike, I'm Traveller, his ex-servant!
Yeah, we came with Nike, but we stayed on with you! Maybe we shouldn't have and we could have been off raping and pillaging some far off land!

Angryminer
Yeah we could finish off these folks we are fighting, whatever nationality they are, and then start pillaging the countryside of Bulgaria! Sounds good, the ones that come to save them then turn on them! :admin_guns:
Hmm sounds good, Dobber I lend you my soldiers to fight the bulgarians. After all, I never did like their King for making us wait...:whip::evil::silly: :silly:

It's a Tzar (Tsar, Czar, or any other way you can think of spelling it). There's a difference. Anyway, i'm with you, we have never actually been allied with Bulgaria, maybe once or twice, and it never ended up well!

I definitely don't find this fun! And I'm serious! If you wanted to ruin yourself in my eyes - good job! :bland:

Well, what else could we do other than hunt down the deserter?
Of course you could also decide to not desert us and we would instead plunder and pillage constantinople. We don't mind.
Some call it blackmailing. I call it negotiation. :dwink:
Get writing now!

Long ago, when no one was writing anything for weeks it no longer was fun! When it was no longer fun, I wrote Dobber and Sakim both out of the story!
Them at some point afterwards, there were attempts being made to continue the story, but no one that was still with the main force was coming forth to write anything. I added the character Ainvar and brought Sir Dobber back from his deathbed, so the main force could be led to Adrianople!
Then we are in the middle of a battle that you are a part of and you decide you don't have time to participate anymore! :bash: How are we supposed to react? We've gotta let off the steam of our disappointment in some manner! I was just kidding around, just as Angryminer was when he suggested it in the post prior to mine! I don't have the energy nor the drive to carry the story in that direction, any direction actually. Maybe we just need to finish the battle here at Adrianople and forget about continuing to Constantinople!

Well, sorry, but I have a life and a job, which are taking my time (and I consider them more important than a story). If I can write - I will, if I can't - I won't. That's it. I'm neither deserting, nor anything...

We're not in a hurry.
We're just impatient.

Traveller: You are taking things too literal and serious. If you are offended by a simple joke....
No one is saying you don't have a life, all we were asking for is 10 minutes to write something out just to end this thing once and for all. Besides you aren't the only one here with a job and a "life".

We all have jobs and a life outside the forum! Kill off your character and we will continue without you!

10 minutes is not enough to write a story, especially since I can't understand the battle positions.
And sorry about my behaviour - I'm quite nervous and catchy lately. Once again - sorry!
Anyway, I read the last logs and I do have some free time (thank God for the Christmas holidays), so I'll try to write something (although I can't guarantee it fits the battle positions, so it might have to be edited later on)...
Edit: Woot, I wrote it, I wrote it, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Damn, I had forgotten how good it feels when you're writing something!
Traveller's Log - The month of Chrven (July), the 10th day of the month
After-battle report, part II
It seems like all the ages of the Earth had came in one single day - the 10th of July, the day of the Battle. And just as a sign for that, it seems to me now that there were whole ages between my meeting with Kuno just beside the city walls, the arrival and regrouping of our forces, the following charges... I still can't realize everything that happened in this day and I doubt that anyone, who took part in this battle, can give a full sight of it. Noone, except God maybe, for only He knows how many souls have faded away in this day and in this place. And I come to ask myself "Is it worth it? All this bloodshed, and for what? In God's name? God was forsaken by us long time ago! Why are we so blood-thirsty, as if we're vampires! What is this force that leads us to constant clashes with each other? Wasn't the battle of Anchialus enough for us and for them? And not only that - not only that we're fighting again, but we've also called others to fight and kill for us! And for what?..."
But such are the thoughts whirling in my head now, as I'm writing these lines. I wasn't thinking such things then, I had no time to think at all. Like when I received a message from Angryminer, when he was already engaged with the Arab infantry, that armoured Roman infantry and cavalry is moving towards him. Immediately, without any thinking, I sent lighter cavalry to scout the enemy's formation, so that I could make my own counter-plan against them. But that wasn't necessary - very soon I saw them myself, as I saw their heavy cavalry charging at Angryminer's flank. Definitely not what I would've prefered, because this way their armoured infantry was still behind - if they were together, I could charge at them and encircle them on my own. But now, as only their cavalry was sweeping through our ranks, I had only two options - to charge, meet the enemy cavalry and let myself be closed between it and the enemy infantry or to await till their infantry also attacks Angryminer's men, which would also probably mean their doom. And, again, I didn't need to think much - the question was whether I risk my men or Angry's. The first choice was safer for the final outcome of the battle, so I ordered my men to advance and charge at the Romean cavalry, thus fully surrounding it with my and Angry's men. Of course, as I expected, the Romans did the same and their infantry charged at my flank, thus encircling my own troops. And once again, I have to say that I don't remember much, as my mind was busy only and entirely with finding enough strength to lift my sword-arm and strike again and again and again. The forces were even, there was no more room for tactical maneuvres, at least for me, so the outcome of this engagement would be determined by the strength and endurance of the men. If we would lost hope first, we would lose. The same was with the enemy. Unless, of course, a miracle would happen. And then, when I was just going to lose my faith, I saw something, which at first I thought to be God's Angelic cavalry, charging at the Roman infantry's rear...
For those, who haven't got it, "God's Angelic cavalry" is Hawk Knight's heavy cavalry, which he had dispatched to Angryminer's aid...
Three cheers for Traveller! :hello: :hello: :hello:
