Ok, the story thread's updated!
Hawk Knight, could you somehow slow up your pace? The battle at Adrianople takes place on the 10th of July (as placed by Richard) and I already said that the whole Allied army would reach it till then (and it would be better to let all commanders have a taste of the grand battle). If you want to hurry up, you could arrive, f.e., on the 9th and make an attack (or a diversion) on some detachment of the Romeo-Arab forces, but not the whole besieging army (and the siege itself should start on the 10th). And btw I don't think we have 60 heavy horsemen, especially such, which could be used for fast riding...
Sowhf, very nice! Finally, someone else on the "enemy" side!
Ainvar, few things: on your "entry title" include your name, so that there aren't any mistakes. And also on which side are you and whose camp have you reached?

It's getting quiet in this Tavern so I will do some more story-telling.
Navatar's Journal
Many weeks have passed since the Welsh campaign and not even the faintest battle have ocurred. This is good. Although most of Mercia is in shambles and there are many things which need fixing, it has been very calm in Mercia. I dined with Edward last day and he brought only good news. His wound have healed up nicely too.
I pass the days helping the townsfolk rebuilding their ruined houses, which many raises an eyebrow at, but I'm just happy to help. And after all, my grandfather was a smith and my father is a builder and I often helped my father in his work so i'm not that useless. If Frankish Knight, may Pie rest his soul, hadn't seen me that day many years ago when he was putting up a handpicked crew to fight the attacking Normans, I would still be in the construction businness. And now I'm king over Mercia......fate work in mysterious ways, I say.
I also pass the days playing with my twin sons and spending time with my wife and trying to comfort her (she lost her father in the last war and her brothers is fighting with comrade Dobbers army down in Bysantium)
My boys are growing up nicely. Personally I can't tell them apart and they are very confusing, talking(or making noises) in a weird way and stuff, but my wife laughs when I bring it up and tells me that those things is natural and I shouldn't worry.
**Later that night**
I just got a scrawny looking letter marked with a black T delivered to me and I knew it's a letter from my spy Travis, whom I sent down to bring me reports about the war down east. This is what it says:
To Nav, from T.
I reached the Mercian army the 16th June and I have been watching from afar (and close by) the progress of the army and the plans of the Commanders. They have been very succesful in this campaign and have won many victories. But they have also lost many good men. I feel sorry to tell you this but sir Dobber is dead, so is also Nike, TKS and Richard. The army mourn their loss but they have still many skillful commanders leading them on yet. I will continue to watch from afar the progress and send notes when I can.
P.S Kick Barret from me will ya? I bet his laughing his cloak of.
P.S.S. I thought a saw a ghost couple a days ago when a man looking excatly like Frankish Knight walked into camp! When I snooped around a bit I heard that he's is no other than Frankish Knights son from Denmark! This means he's the rightful heir to the Mercian throne my liege....I will watch this man (who goes under the name of FrankishHero) with a extra eye.
The deaths of my old comrades in arms stings me like a knife in the heart and I hope they didn't go down without a fight!
The presence of FrankishHero I already knew about ofcourse as I once accompained Frankish Knight to Denmark once and meet his son.
I think I once said that I would gladly give him the throne if he requested for it but now...... I'm too attached with Mercia now to leave it and it's inhabitans to someone I hardly know of. I would only give away the throne if I knew for sure FH will care for the people and not cause them more harm by declearing more wars!
I hope to get more notes from Travis.
End.

From now on I will write in Travis's perspective. I will not just repeat what you write, as that would be simply spamming. I will more likely write about what happens in camp and if Travis notices somehting you are not seeing. (Like spies or soldiers talking about stuff they shouldn't be talking about  )
Perhaps I will get a direct role in this campaign down east later but you will have to find me first

Hi richard  welcome back :go: you couldent resist to come back and see us again he
lol, nope, couldn't forget the good times here:wink:
It appears the battle is going to be at Adrianople, a huge force from Constantinople awaits outside the walls of Adrianople! But it has been stalled there for some time, I am sure both armies have starved to death by now!
Probably. Wonder what keeps people (an' by people, I mean the Bards!) from writing?
Is it a flu? Have they suffered from a instant sunburn? Did they got stabbed by some assassin's right before they managed to press the "Supmit Reply" button? We'll will perhaps found out.
In the meantime. A round of some beer for everyone
Put it on my tab. Don't worry Eric, I will pay it soon enough
